This could possibly be one of the best carving days ever.
Why do you say that?
Here's the reason... (This pic is from one week ago today.... The knife-edge carving that you could
do on the gorgeous surfaces in this pic. covered virtually every groomed run
at Tremblant without exception that day. Almost zero glitches anywhere.
It was a statistical anomaly of perfection.)
Exactly one week ago, we had virtually identical weather
patterns where Monday reached a high of -1C under
overcast skies. The cloud cover kept the sun from damaging
any Snow Surfaces, then, that night the temps dropped quickly
to around -17C and on Tuesday morning...voilà, one of the best
carving days ever.
Something in the transition caused the groomed trail surfaces
to become mega-traction grippy with almost no shred factor,
but so perfectly fast and reliable, that we commented on the unique
and remarkable quality of it.

We're thinking that could happen again today. Time will tell. This Web Cam Snap Shot, courtesy of http://www.tremblant.ca ,
illustrates the crisp, cool, crystal clear day we have today
following yesterdays mild and overcast -1C. We think what's
happening is that the flash quick overnight cold is "drying out"
the groomed surfaces, producing an extremely high traction,
super smooth carving environment, coincidentally identical to what
happened last week.

Tremblant Winter playground. This skier came down the lower
part of Banzai and hit the lip while turning right on the cat
track to Marie-Claude Asselin. There was enough of a ramp to
provide an airborne lift for a couple of meters, then a harmless
fluffy landing into a big pile of fresh powder! Todays Blue Sky Sample Ah... The joy's of a gorgeous Tremblant winter!
