3/17/11 Conditions

Post by T360 »

87(*) Open Trails on the 4 sides of Tremblant.

Considering that it was forecasted to go down to -5C last night, looks
like we dodged another weather bullet with overnight, just barely sub-zero
temps @-1C that will help maintain the very fine Tremblant Alpine surfaces.

The Summit, with it's average 4 to 5 degrees C cooler temps looks like
it has done very well overnight, maybe even haven gotten a slight dusting
of overnight snow, just to freshen the look of things with a nice white
coating.

We love the Web Cam's, they allow us all to observe basic
conditions, whether near or far. Thanks Tremblant for keeping
them up, they're a very valuable asset and they make the following
types of comparisons possible.

When it looks like this from "Above"...

It looks something like this from "Below" ...

Two noteworthy points...

Firstly... The two pic's above are of the same place, just different angles
and of course, the higher resolution of conventional digital Pic's
compared to the overhead Web Cam.

Secondly, The bottom pic was taken 6 days ago, so it is extremely important
to know and realize that despite it being the second week of March, we still
have the essence of very solid "Winter" coverages as is evidenced by the
continuously held snow in the trees for every day, this entire week past.

Looking at the Weather Network graphic for the 14 day long range
forecast, it's easy to see that we should remain well below the 30 year
average daily high temperature of +6C for this time period.

Fantastic news for all Tremblant Alpine Snow Sports Fans.

Every moment of sub-zero is a big help sustaining the wonderful
ski/board conditions that we will now carry through to seasons end.
