Conditions 2/05/09

Warmer.

Well, they keep on saying that it will be getting warmer,
but for some reason, Mother Nature says... "Maybe Tomorrow".

At lunch yesterday, one of our U.K. guests commented that
the snow quality here is better than Europe.

Describing conditions in the Alps as "Slushy" and "overcrowded”,
the conversation went on to discuss how much better the snow
is here at Tremblant.

We talked about how crisp and dry the snow is, how much better
control and feel there is to our surfaces.

Bottom line: The bright side of cooler temps is Quality in the
Snow Conditions, and right now, compared to Europe, Tremblant wins.

Nice to hear.

Of course, we agree, and while we might say that a few degrees
warmer here and there might be nice, non-the-less, the benefit
of the weather exactly the way it is, is that we have the best skiing
and boarding possible, way, way above average.

Take a close look at the web cam snap shot below
( courtesy of http://www.tremblant.ca ), it is not hard to tell that no
matter what your skill level is, today will be an absolutely classic
winter day at Tremblant with excellent skiing and boarding for all.

The wind is from the North-West today, so coming up the P'tit Bonhour
side. It will probably shift around a bit, but with the sun out at full force,
riding up the Gondola should be toasty warm in all that thermal energy.

Conditions are fast all over the mountain, so please be careful with speed
and use caution around trail intersections, we have lots of folks taking
lessons and working on their skills, so be sure to give plenty of room
to those who need it.

You will see some neat "Future" gear on the slopes today as the Snow Sports Industry has its "By Invitation Only" trade show. At the South Side Base. Not open to the public, but you will see people demo'ing the new equipment, so keep an eye out for unusual new skis, boards, boots etc.
