It is what it is... basically, solid April Spring Ski
conditions on P'tit Bonheur and Nansen. 100%
improvement on the vision over yesterday. Super easy
temps and nice carving hold with no ice we could find.

7(*) open Trails on the Official list this morning,
representing the two major descents on the top,
summit sectors of South and North.
(Page under construction, sorry for delays, but
seasonal start-up issues we expect to have sorted out
very soon.)
Foggy and damp as it was, yesterdays afternoon
surfaces were fast and grippy. With a little skating action
we were able to cruise right across the Mi-Chemin final plateau
to reach the TGV without using poles, so the glide
factor was unexpectedly good. We did our bases
with a "warm" temp range wax before opening day
and it's working quite well in these conditions. We are lucky to have both North and South descents
with the weather challenges Mountain Crews face,
but even luckier still that the surfaces are as good as they are.
Oddly, we never think of "Fall" skiing, but if we say "Spring"
skiing, everyone will know in an instant what to expect, and
that is sort of where we're at, "Spring" Ski/Board conditions
on the open terrain.
Experienced Alpine Ski/Boarders also know that these conditions
can still be fun as long as you are prepared with the right gear
and base treatments.
Visibility that was quite limited yesterday should be substantially
better today and early this morning, the Summit Webcam lens
is dry throughout its entire range of motion which suggests that
it is not raining. ----------------------------------------------------------------
Mid-Morning Update:
Clear Summit Visibility ----------------------------------------------------------------
Temps are forecasted to reach up to around +7 or so at base
levels, so the Summit should still be right around, or just slightly
above freezing. The winds are moderate, between 10-15 KPH
and coming from the East, across the Summit from the Duncan
side moving toward Beauvallon. Another easy-temp day.

and status report. With the right base prep and garment layers:
Benefits of Skiing/Boarding Tremblant Today...
- "Spring" Skiing/Boarding that's still loads of fun
after a long summer off season.
- Excellent exercise and training to "reboot" those dormant
winter leg muscles that no amount of gym training can
effectively replicate.
Rep's at the gym???, or laps carving on the smooth surfaces
of P'tit Bonheur and Nansen???
Staring at 4 walls???, or Outdoors on the "beautiful in any weather"
open slopes of Tremblant???
Final Notes:
On a day that many might discard as not good enough,
we found tremendous enjoyment yesterday. Lapping
P'tit Bonheur's fast, grippy surfaces with good hard power
carves after lunch had our Quad muscles screaming with joy
and smiles from ear to ear.
Then, while Tremblant's world famous panoramas were not
available, Mother Nature provided us with some of the most
remarkable intimate portraits of her work imaginable.
Riding up the TGV @ 2:10 pm, Aerodynamics, How Nature Designs Birds.
The common Loon has evolved over millions of years.
Mother Nature made these same shapes overnight
here at Tremblant.
Take Flight at Tremblant.
We are sincerely thankful to be on the slopes of Tremblant any day
and in any weather. Period. It's up to us to adapt to the conditions
and get the most out of the experience by making the best of it.
