Scroll down to "reply" for Apres Ski.

7(*) Open runs on the Official list representing
the 2 descent paths on the top, Summit based
South and North sides of Tremblant.

Good Spring-like Ski/Board Surfaces on
P'tit Bonheur and Nansen Upper.

Ski and Board performance will be optimized
by base waxing or coating with "warm" temp
range materials.

The Pic's above and below are significant for 3 reasons:

1) There's a lot of snow at the Summit of Tremblant!
The quantity and quality of the snow coverage that
the Tremblant Mountain Crews have been able to
create and maintain, given the weather challenges,
is remarkable. So far, there is hardly a glitch anywhere
in the open terrain.

2) They show that there are multiple Alpine Ski/Board
Teams training at Tremblant right now.
They know
the vital importance of getting out as early as possible
for real training on real snow for building skills and
strength for the upcoming season.

3) You should be here for the same reasons!

Todays weather should see a base level temp of about +7 or so
under overcast skies with the possibility of rain later on in the day
after the slopes are closed.

The winds are forecasted to be moderate at about 15KMPH from
the south-east which will have them coming over the summit
from the Duncan side towards Nansen. Riding up either the TGV
or Lowell Thomas should not get much of it till you're almost at the top
and at these temps, it's not going to be hard to handle anyway.

There's sun in the forecast for tomorrow... wow, what a nice change
that would be!

Only at Tremblant!!!!
We had to go to the grocery store Apres Ski and on the way
there we spotted this Italian Exotic Super-car. Personally, we
wouldn't want to get any salt on our Lamborghini, but hey,
to some people, that's not a big deal!

Back to Skiing/Boarding...

Bottom line is that the open surfaces are in fine
shape for early season training/riding enjoyment and
after a long off-season it's great to be back on the slopes!
More following in Apres Ski later on...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Winter Daily Reports, Index/Archive: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any past, numbered, archived index pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

From "Pat" on Tremblant.ca's Facebook...

"So lets be honest, is it worth the 2 hour drive monday morning
with the rain forcasted for today?"

This is a practical, intelligent question that is very difficult to
answer in absolute terms because of any number of "Mother
Nature" variables, but within those speculations, we tried to
answer appropriately with:

"We hope/think that conditions will hold well for the immediate future,
but there is a risk, and we could be wrong because Mother Nature could
go either way. However, with base down close to freeze tonight, summit
could actually get orographic snowfall, if it rains, there's still enough
snow to go for day(s)? If you like P'tit Bonheur and Nansen Summit sectors,
you will be overjoyed with high traction carving surfaces that are very
spring-like. Fortunately, Tremblant's Summit, due to altitude, has been
much closer to freezing than base, and while it rained at base, the summit
was above those clouds and got only very minor sleet today, so coverage is
still very complete. The possibility exists that it could stay that way tonight.
One thing for sure, if it's good, it's a 1000% better than any excitement you
may find in a gym and the quad burn is thorough. It is not mid winter, but
after a long summer, a superb intro to winter. Todays skiing was technically
better than when we made this video. http://tinyurl.com/cb3pzrg Summit
webcam lens is dry right now, check it and http://www.tremblant.ca at sunrise to
help your decision, but get ready tonight for instant departure response
if looking positive."

Here's a supporting pic of Nansen at 1:40 P.M.
You will notice, no rain and clear visibility.
You can also see complete "wall to wall" coverage.

We think it's worth a shot, but then again, we're Ski Freaks!

Thank you answering that one!
I was dead for the past 3 days due to a very aggressive cold, no action on the Facebook page!

You are most welcome!

When that Q got posted, there was an immediate "No"
which we felt was at least... unfair, and for sure... incomplete.

Predictions are always risky, but we stated that right up front
and in the end, those who came out yesterday scored big-time
with exceptional conditions, a real treat!

It may only be one run, but it's in Excellent Condition, and worth
every effort.

Based on what we've heard, nothing else in the Laurentian's comes close.
