Apres Mid-Night, Apres Ski...

Scroll down to "reply".

-------------------------------------------------------------

5(*) Open Trails on the Official List today.

(page under construction, refresh as necessary. Thanks
for your patience!)

2 descents from the Summit...
1 South, basically Nansen to Mi-Chemin
to TGV High Speed Quad Chair.
1 North, P'tit Bonheur to Lowell Thomas
Triple Chair.

Here's the Summit Web Cam "Big Picture"
this morning....

Here's a bit of a close-up showing SnowMaking on upper
Beauchemin, on the right side of this screen. This is important
because it signifies the preparation of the terrain necessary
for the public to access the open North Side runs during the
24Hour Children's Charity Fundraiser going on next weekend.

This is the first real "Wintery" cool morning, starting out at -13C
under brilliantly Sunny skies. Temps will rise fairly quickly to a high
of somewhere around -3C or so at base level, and the Summit should
see a high we think somewhere around -9C.

The kicker, if there is one, is that there may be a moderate and
periodically brisk wind moving across the Summit from the Soleil,
South Side toward P'tit Bonheur. At these early morning low temps
any breeze at all is going to feel cool, so bundling up around
waist, neck wrists etc., will provide maximum comfort.

Welcome to Winter!

We anticipate that with stable, deep sub-zero overnights and
most days for the foreseeable future, SnowMaking will be ramped
up considerably in many sectors of the Mountain.

Add in the potential of Fresh Natural Snow as is expected, and we
have the fundamental conditions for establishing an excellent
season here at Tremblant. This second point is particularly
applicable to all 2011/12 season Tremblant Trip Planners.
When you see the building blocks of a fine season being put
into place at this early stage, chances are we'll be in great shape
from now on.

5(*) Open Trails on the Official, Downloadable,
PDF file Trail and Grooming status report.

Please Note: we continue to monitor the middle
"snowmaking" column as the best indicator of
future open terrain.

Please Also Note: SnowMaking on the South Side may not
be accessible in all cases as some areas will be restricted for
the preparations for the 24Hour event next weekend.

With 3 inches of new snow, plus all they've blown
over the last two nights and groomed in to the base,
the open terrain will be very high quality. Definitely
worth the effort to get in some early season training.
Bottom Line... go, if you can.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Winter Daily Reports, Index/Archive: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any past, numbered, archived index pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

Tremblant.ca bumped the open trail count
on the South Side mid-morning and published
a second Downloadable PDF Trail and Grooming
status report. It's not that unusual to see trails
added or subtracted when conditions can literally
be changing by the hour at seasons beginning or end.

The trail added was Beavallon Haut, or Upper.

We'll include the document here, just for the archive.
