Not a single thing you can do other than be patient while
Mountain Crews run Groomers over the terrain, then have
the Ski Patrol inspect and certify to Open.

Occasionally Mother Nature delivers odd timing on overnight
weather factors that squeeze the morning openings back
and this is certainly one of them.

The Good News is that the North Side is scheduled to be open
Top-To-Bottom Today!

The Duncan Quad was tested last weekend and SnowMaking
on the bottom of Beauchemin have allowed Crews to get this
vital step completed and we think that's Great!

The Weather Story....
Summary, Great looking forecast with overnight lows
very favourable for snowmaking, some Sunshine and
good chance of Natural Snow!
The "Heat" is off !!!

What To (Hopefully) Expect Next At Tremblant.

Without specific reference to timeline because there
may be variables we're not aware of.

As purely a speculation based on the amount of work that's
been put into the Summit of the Expo Sector, we anticipate
that Sissy Schuss, Upper, and Entrance to Gagnon, as well as
Fuddle Duddle Lower, to Expo Base, could be the next significant
Terrain to come on-line.

This path sequence allows a ton of flexible options for Mountain
users to "Keep Moving" with no/minimum lift lines, particularly
with Duncan on-line too.

17(*) Open Trails.
Please Note "Progressive" Openings
Due to transitional overnight weather.

With Both Major Base South and North zones now
Officially OPEN, today is the start of the best of the season
as things unfold and develop from this point forward.

When are you going to get here?
We hope it's soon!

So... is it skiable this morning? Looking out, I don't see anyone on the south side trails... and the wind makes me wonder if the chars will stay open.
hold on: there are 4 patrols coming down the last part at the bottom of the south, putting bamboo all over... doesn't look too promising...
maybe thenorth side is ok?

Thanks very much for your excellent questions.

Yes, it is very skiable this morning.

What we think you'll find today is highly variable, transitional
conditions that are the best that can be done with all these
Weather Wild-Cards. There will probably be a bit of each
on both sides, North and South, also probably better in the
Summit Zones that saw cooler temps throughout.

Right up front....

We are guilty of being thankful for every single day at Tremblant,
no matter what the weather is. With all due respect, there are many
who are not as flexible or open to the different kinds conditions
we have no problem with. We will Ski ANY weather Tremblant is
open.

To begin with, there will always be some area that has really
sweet conditions. So far this season, P'tit Bonheur has been
the most consistent in that department. Fortunately, it's
an excellent run to begin with. You will need to explore
today to verify where these better conditions are.

There will also be areas that are prone to
iciness where moisture and or wind and or wear factors
can occur or be combined to produce slick conditions.

When there's a potential of slick zones, if you've been reading
our POV, you'll know we recommend well tuned edges. Sharp
edges are your best friend anytime.

Regardless of personal skill levels, all Skiers need to practice in
challenging conditions in order to develop techniques of skills, coping
or both, so we will ski anything for that reason alone, with the
intent and satisfaction expected from learning.

When we have such vastly and quickly changing variable
weather factors, it is our practice to cautiously explore
the Open Terrain a low speed. This daily exploration process
is vitally important after rapid temp swings. Obviously not
quite so much in the middle of February, when the weather
can be very stable from day to day.

Mother Nature has the trump cards and we feel it's important
to check those out before ripping around.
