Top-To-Bottom, Both Bases Open!
Tremblant delivers more Open Terrain!
"The Tremblant Elevation Advantage"
Here's a little reminder from last week about why
Tremblant continues to enjoy consistent, high quality
Summit based Snow Surfaces, right up to today and beyond...
This scene is 3000 feet over sea-level.
Despite an unexpected little thermal burp from Mother Nature...
...Open trail count jumps from 23 to 29!
Overnight weather saw temps floating around Zero C, +/-,
when the forecast was for -7C, so apparently, the "line"
of cold moved North of us unexpectedly.
Fortunately for Tremblant Mountain users, the majority of
the Snowmaking required to put the additional runs on the
"Open" list was done before this temp rise, so we've come
out ahead for today anyway.
Will this effect the planned opening of Geant for the weekend?
We're not sure. It will be interesting to see if there's enough of a
head start on it to progress through to opening. Mountain Crews
have lost about 12 hours of SnowMaking, which is a fair amount,
but they have been working on it for days, so they may well have
sufficient by now. One way to look at it would be that plans may
be set back by the the amount of time lost, but even that would
only cause a one day delay if the new forecast for a rapid temp drop
comes true. Time will tell.
At the time of this post, the temps are already dropping as we've
seen them at +1C @ 6:00 A.M., then down below freezing to -2C
by 7:00 A.M., so that's a bit of a relief and headed in the right direction.
The Skiing and Boarding should still be very good this morning,
however you may find some slick zones Mid-to-Low Mountain, where
the ZeroC temp line has been. Above that we think things will be quite fine
as Mountain Crews have been out this morning Grooming from the Summit
down. See Time Stamp on Web Cam Snap Shot below. More later as time permits.

Tremblant continues to enjoy the
"Elevation Advantage" with the Summit
holding on to sub-zero temps and the best
sustained Alpine Snow Surfaces in the
