Christmas Day Tremblant Alpine Slopes!
Yesterdays Preliminary report for today showed 33 and we've
awoken to 35, so there's a Christmas bonus of 2 on top of
those already promised, a great way to start the day!
Still "Brisk" at -15C this A.M., but without the thermal addition
of the suns rays, so in trade what we get is an overnight dusting
of Fresh Snow!
In combination with the Mountain Crews night-shift Grooming,
this will produce surface conditions that are of the highest possible
quality.
We forecast Carving Excellence as the real Christmas Present for
all in attendance today!
"For Best Results", and considering that the Summit will be cooler
than the base, you will need to make sure that all the potential
heat loss gaps in your outer layered system are well secured.
We know of some fortunate people who are getting Boot Warming
systems for Christmas this morning. They will be well pleased today,
that's for sure!
We also read that these efficient low voltage electrical warming grids
are being applied in Jackets and Gloves too, so evidently, as time and
design permit smaller, lighter technologies to evolve, Winter Alpine
Sports are going to become more comfortable for those who want to
build a thermal cocoon to rip around in.
A Tremblant "Before and After", Trail Case Study with a
Wild, Whacky, Holiday Wishful Conclusion.
Before: McCulloch 2 weeks ago: After: McCulloch yesterday: Given: To complete this McCulloch Descent Path, required
a portion of Charron, (trail #19 on the Official Tremblant
Trail Map) as a connector.
Now Then... on to the Wild, Whacky, Wishful part...
Look at the SnowMaking column below.... with particular
attention to Vanier, Trail #60 on the Official Trail Map....
It's just a Wild, Whacky, Wishful Speculation, but when we see
Vanier, as a connector, on the SnowMaking list in the early season,
that sometimes leads to the 2 stage development of EXPO.
The first stage is sometimes the bottom of Expo with the entrance
off of lower Duncan, ... oh say, is that Duncan Bas (lower) on the
SnowMaking list too? ... Why yes it is!
The second stage would be SnowMaking on Expo's upper pitch,
right back on up to the offload zone of the Expo Quad Chair, which
is technically speaking the start of Vanier. Excerpt of Official, Downloadable PDF Trail Map,

This is where our wishful thinking could be wrong, because Expo's
not yet on the Snowmaking list, but if it was in the next day or two....
McCulloch first appeared on the SnowMaking
list on Dec.9th, and it opened "progressively" on the 13th, that's
5 days later, But, we had 10CM of natural snow on the 8th,
...so check this out.... Natural Weather Conditions Are Favourable For
Progress In Terrain Development...
with a week 'til New Years .
Wild, Whacky Wishful Conclusion Speculation:
Could we see Expo for New Years or soon after?
We have no idea whether or not this is possible,
but it's always fun to dream!
