49(*) Open Trails!

14CM, 6 Inches Of Fresh Snow!
BUT.... We can tell you for a FACT, that due to
localized Drifting Factors, there will be places
on the Mountain where the Fresh Snow deposits
will be much greater than that!

Summit Snow!
The Summit Web Cam is pretty much covered in Snow, except for
one important sliver that just fortunately, tells us all we need to
know about this morning.

Thank You Mother Nature!
You KNOW it's a great day when Banzai and
Marie-Claude Asselin Open With Natural Snow!
(**)
(**) Shown Below as "Progressive" or Gradually Opening
this morning, subject to Ski Patrol inspections.

As far as we are concerned, things worked out very much
as we expected in yesterdays report. We're going to run
this Google Earth Satellite View from yesterday, with notations,
again because we feel that it generally indicates where you will
find a lot of the best exploring this morning, today and for a few
days to come.

Please Note: Wind Direction Indicators were
for the Over-Night of Dec.27th, 2011.
Dec. 28th Wind Direction is forecasted to be
from the Nor-West, or diagonally across this
diagram from roughly Upper Left to Lower Right.

The "Swirl" patterns over the Summit with today's
Nor-West wind direction may cause very heavy drifting
on Banzai and Marie-Claude Asselin.

SnowMaking On Grand Prix!
There are going to be a lot of people very happy to see
Grand Prix, a local favourite for decades, on the
SnowMaking list. We think that this sector will have been
a primary recipient of localized Snow Drifting in our
over-night Snow event. The additional Blown Snow
laid down by Mountain Crews will help to create a very
durable base that will be the foundation for full-season
durability on this classic Tremblant descent.

For those familiar with Tremblant's layout, a close look at the
"Blue" arrows on the satellite view above will show that both
Grand Prix as well as Banzai/MCA are under "Blue" arrows we
thought would get localized drifting benefits.

Do we need to tell you the Skiing and Boarding are
going to be Excellent today?
Let there be no doubt...
it will be fabulous today at Tremblant!

The weather for today is a definite swing toward winter as we
see dropping temps and a strong Nor-West wind. You will
definitely want to bundle up as these wind velocities, expected to
reach 30 KMPH, will strip the heat out of your garment layers if
not properly over-lapped and sealed. Riding up any lift other than
the Gondola will be a chilly experience at the top of each. At least
with the TGV, it may be somewhat at your back, but even then,
you'll notice it, for sure.

The Trade-Off...

Do we need to tell you the Skiing and Boarding are
going to be Excellent today?
Let there be no doubt...
it will be a classic winter Day at Tremblant!

We think Sissy Schuss, Fuddle Duddle and La Griffe, off the Summit
of the Expo Quad will be the most sheltered today and there should
be superb snow there as well.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Winter Reports, Index/Archive: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any past, numbered, archived index pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

Got Snow,
Getting More Snow.
(**)

It's very gratifying when your personal Holiday Wishes
for more Snow come true.

We awoke this morning to find ourselves now solidly into Winter
mode with rapidly expanding terrain and base depth of Natural
Snow.

This is exactly what all Tremblant Fans have been looking for.

Having some advance warning of the "Bad Weather" we Love to get,
we were able to examine all the forecast models and we were
confident that we would be seeing a fairly significant snow event...
