Icing Sugar Snow on the 4 Sides of Tremblant.
Milder Morning Temps, A Bit Of Fresh Snow...
A TON Of Fresh Grooming...
And 45.44 Kilometres Of The Best Alpine Descents
In Eastern North America!
If you can't get enough exercise on over 45 K of
the fine slopes of Tremblant, you'd be Superman...
or Superwomen, or Super Human, or something like that....
Otherwise, no matter what your skill level is, today will
be another early winter day of very fine Skiing and Boarding
that in addition to being fun, is also some of the best quality
Physiotherapy known to science.
It's not Physiotherapy in the conventional way of thinking though,
because we usually think of it in terms of a recuperative process
for an injury, but the way we want to think of it this morning is
as a pro-active modality of wellness.
Everyone knows that exercise is good for you, but a day on the Slopes
of Tremblant does more than just that. A couple of days ago, we wrote
about the human hormonal responses to vigorous Skiing or Boarding
involving adrenaline and endorphins' and how those responses allow
you to go "Above and Beyond" the levels of output that you could
normally achieve in the gym. Another part of that is the related
elevations of Mood, or Spirit that come as a result. Sure, you can get a
great workout at the gym, but it will never come close to the total
effect of a day at Tremblant! ... Especially a fine winter day like today.
Stating the Obvious??? Maybe, but every once in a while, we all need
a little reminder that taking a break from the Drama's of life for
some "Physiotherapy" at Tremblant is the best medicine!

8:45 A.M. Update: Soleil is shown as "progressive" or gradual
opening this morning, however at his time the Soleil Chair Lift
is running, so we expect that to clear shortly.
---------------------------------------------------------------
8:50 A.M. Update: "Proof of Soleil"... That was quick!
Here's the Web Cam evidence... -------------------------------------------------------------------
Today's Weather...
Let's start with this...
The big factor in today's weather will be the wind at the Summit.
Riding up the Duncan, Soleil or the TGV will see the greatest exposure
to wind chill and it will be coming from the side of those lifts as it moves
in an Easterly direction at Moderate to Strong levels across the Summit from
basically Duncan towards Nansen.
As usual for any significant wind speed at these temps, bundling up,
reducing exposed skin and ensuring the seals and overlaps around
wrists, ancles, waist, neck, head, etc., etc., will be of paramount
importance for comfort and safety.
It's a lot warmer now than it was 48 hours ago, but attention
to garment system details will still make a huge and positive difference
in enjoyment.
Don't let poor thermal retention distract you from your technique,
cold feet or hands can really detract from great riding.
