77(*) Open Trails on all 4 Superb Sides of Tremblant
How "Superb" is "Superb"???
Spreads Like Butter, Skis Like Satin.
The Holidays are over....
"This Is The First Day Of The Rest Of The Season."
Yesterday we wrote:
"For All The Truly Dedicated Tremblant Fans
Out There, The Next 12 To 13 Weeks Are The
Sweetest Days Of The Year."
The significance of these words can not be over-emphasized.
Despite a bit of a slow start back in late November, early
December, a very high quality season has gradually
gathered momentum and we now find ourselves with a
well established base that has seen very little thermal shock,
and has remained below freezing for several weeks, not always
a lot below freezing, but enough to keep it stable. There have
also been enough Minus-Teen's and Minus-Tweenties Celsius
Over-Nights to drive a good frost into the Mountain so
we've got a well established ambient cold storage going on
for some added protection and durability too. All this, plus
the skills and talents of the Tremblant Mountain Operations
Crews who have added both snowmaking and grooming to
create surfaces that are optimized for quality.
These are indeed, some of the sweetest days of the maturing
winter and every effort should be made to participate in the
passion that genuine Ski and Board freaks share in it.
Life is Short, and so are the prime, sweet days of Tremblant's
Alpine Winter season.
While on on hand, it seems as though there's lot's of time
to fit in visits to Tremblant, for some, time slips away and
before you know it, opportunities often disappear. We just
want to suggest that with a season as fine as we have that
you don't let any of your opportunities for what we have right
now, go unused.
Bottom Line on this point: Now is when the serious Tremblant Fans
get serious about spending as much time on the Mountain as
they can.
On to other Tremblant News....
From the Official Snow Report:
"T-66 DAY! The first phase of the Adrenaline Park is open
with the first series of features in the Curé-Deslauriers,
for the pleasure of the most adventurers! The Park pass is not
required for the first phase, but a helmet is mandatory in order
to use the features!"
This is BIG news for all the legions of Tremblant Park People
that are itching to get some Air, and Park Module time.
Other REALLY BIG TREMBLANT NEWS!!!!
SNOWMAKING ON UPPER EXPO!!!!
You Know What That Means!
Expo, the "Showcase" run that dominates the view of the Mountain
from the North Side Base, is finally getting the benefit of Mountain
Crews efforts and it won't be long before it opens now.
We could not be more thrilled! Everyone who "Knows"
Tremblant, has their favourites, but Expo has the most dedicated,
loyal fans of perhaps any single run here at Tremblant. We know
people that come out to ski Expo ALL DAY! We know people that do
"EXPO Marathons" (30 some-odd runs on Expo in a day for at least
one of our T360 Team members).
There are going to be a lot of Very Happy Campers with this great news.
GET READY FOR THIS!!!
----------------------- Let's Talk About The Weather!
-11C , rising up to somewhere around -6C, easy winter temps after
some of what we had last week at this time. Overcast with a nice
additional fluffy layer of fresh snow.
Here are a couple of Web Cam Snap Shot Samples
to illustrate and record.
All We Can See Is SNOW! looking North over the
Summit of the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair. It might not look like much of a scenic pic., looking at the
deck of the North Base lodge, but it tells us a great story before
we head off to the Mountain for the day...
enough fresh snow to make tracks in... every bit counts!
Experienced Tremblant regulars will know exactly how
fine this coating will make our morning surfaces. Near Future Tremblant Trip Planners:
Everyone likes stability and it looks like we've got that
for quite a while! What this means is that Tremblant's very fine surfaces
will continue to get better, and will also continue to expand.
