1/20/12 Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

T360 Apres Midnight, Apres Ski Edit...

Let's Start with... 100% Tremblant, 100% Open!
You Got It Tremblant Fans, Tomorrow is the First
Day of this season that the Mountain will be 100%,
95 out of 95 trails OPEN! This is according to the
Official Tremblant.ca Preliminary Snow Report
for Tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 21st, 2012.

Nice! We'll have to do a bit of checking through our
statistics archive, but we're thinking that we're a week
or so earlier than usual for this seasonal milestone.

Next, it's supposed to start out with maybe some
Snow Flurries, but then become mostly sunny, so we're
putting this sunny Soleil Toboggan pic. from earlier in
the week to get you excited about how tomorrow afternoon
should look!

Let's Finish with... Good Grief, Mother Nature, What's
With These Crazy Low Temps? Nothing we can do of
course, except get out the layers for tomorrow
morning but we've exceeded the forecast low at
11:00 P.M. and it looks like it's going to be Sunday
before we get the temp rise that was supposed to
be here tomorrow.

Today's Weather Story...

Starts out at a wintery -19 C which while cool enough on its
own, is still about 10 C warmer than it was yesterday. The summit
is actually a bit foggy to begin with, due to snowmaking, but the Sun
should blast through quickly and we expect primarily Sunny Skies for
the day with a high that's only a few degrees warmer at about -17 C.
It looks like we've got two more nights of -20 C's and cool days,
then we should see a rise, both day and night, for next week.

Please note the time stamps on these Summit Web Cam samples
and you can see the effect of the rising Sun as its energy is being
applied.

The wind has shifted to the West and its velocity has dropped
nicely into the moderate range at about 15 KMPH so riding up the
TGV should have it at your back and hopefully, we won't feel too
much of it cresting the Summit on the Duncan Quad or the
Lowell Thomas Triple.

Light traffic, lot's 'o snow, Tremblant will feel like a private club
today once you clear the Summit and you find that you have most
trails all to yourself. An excellent opportunity to practice technique
in lapping mode when you can cover so much ground without any
crowd concerns at all.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If You  "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
