The bad news is we are getting rain.

The good news is that it will not last as long as originally forecast.

Late day update: it actually snowed all day on the North Side!

A bit of additional good news is that it is forecast to turn into Snow as the temps return to below freezing this afternoon.

We are pleasantly surprised to see the open trail count this A.M. at 67 runs open.

That's a fair increase from the end of day yesterday at 54, so evidently, the Mountain crews are doing their best to control the effects of the rain.

Yes, you will need some sort of waterproof outer layer this morning, but that will not change the fact that as long as there is open terrain, it will be your typical "Spring" ski and board conditions.

If the weather network forecast model is accurate, then the transition from rain to snow will reduce the chance of ice forming with sub-zero temps. New snow is the best we can hope for, so lets keep our fingers crossed for that.

The Soleil, Edge and Expo chairs remain closed this morning due to the weather and the open trail count could change at almost any time, so be sure to check back often through the kinks below to find out all the latest news.
