95(*) Open Trails on the comfortably warmer by
about 11 degrees Celsius, 4 sides of 100% Pure
Winter Tremblant.

Yesterday was Light and Overcast off and on all day, sort of
sunny, kind of cloudy... but... Look At The Snow... You can see the very fine top surface that we
found practically everywhere. There were places where a firm
base had been revealed by traffic in some of the usual patterns
around steeper pitches or wide open windblown areas as well as
near trail intersections, however there was nothing that was
difficult to navigate with the appropriate care and control.
For this reason we do recommend caution with speed on your
initial explorations to verify safe passage in areas not yet
covered. Once you've established where the best conditions are for
your skill set, you will no doubt have an excellent day.
Tremblant Surface Quality Pic. du Jour...
Kandahar, Versant Sud, The South Side. Obvious,
Outstanding,
Over-The-Top Tremblant Fun!
Versant Nord, The North Side,
Rope Tow, North Park. For near-future Tremblant trip planners, the base we have right now is
your best assurance of a very high quality Alpine Ski/Board experience
here from now through to seasons end. Very stable weather conditions
with no un-due gross thermal events, means that this base which is over
a meter more of accumulation than the two years previous, so far, is going to
hold up very well in terms of not only the surface quality, but the quantity
too. So, with the proviso that within Mother Natures regular winter patterns
here remaining consistent, you can have a very high level of Tremblant
Trip Planning Confidence.
The last several weeks with Tremblant's mature winter season
base and coverage have been a joy to Ski. This Toboggan sample from
late last week is typical of what we've had universally covering the
open groomed terrain on all 4 sides.
Overcast this morning with chance of snow flurries and a
projected daytime high temp of -10 C, but we're already at -11,
so it's a possibility we'll break through that and end up higher.
The trend is definitely towards warmer this week and we may even see
zero, right at freezing, later on, mid-week.
The skiing and boarding will all be very fine, as they were yesterday,
but for sure, you need decent edges because there is a very firm base
that while not really icy, is definitely a lot easier to handle with some
"Bite" capability. Otherwise, without the fresh "Edge" advantage, you'll
be doing a fair bit of skidding where the firm sectors are found.
