There was a bit of a wind, but it was just enough to wake you up,
not to slap you around, so a very very easy winter day of mild
mid-season conditions.

Everyone out seemed to be enjoying the day very much and there
were all kinds of friendly, waving, happy people scattered around
the Mountain.

Tremblant... The Colours Of Fun!

The thing you're going to love the most about Tremblant today is
the key word in the opening sentence above... "Consistently",
as it refers to the virtually universal state of excellence that
Tremblant's Groomed and Natural Open Terrain currently has.

Within each rated skill level, the Tremblant Mountain Crews have
meticulously refined the surfaces night after night, day after day,
to reach this point of reliable quality everywhere you go.

We frequently talk about the ability of this Mountain to improve daily
when there is stable, long term below zero weather, combined with
abundant Natural Snow, and we have that now to a degree that can
only come with the maturity of the season and the cumulative benefits
of all hard work, long hours and the good fortune of Mother Natures
generous gifts of Natural Snow.

Yesterday was a day of many contrasts, but those were largely in the
differences between where you felt the "Breezes" i.e. "wind", as there
were places where it was "Vigorous" as depicted here below, primarily
at the Summit and on the South side.

Evidence of the wind velocity is clear as the surface layer
of snow was subjected to peak speeds on wide open
South facing surfaces, moving it around. This wind activity
did more to "Refresh" the surfaces though, rather than cause
them to be barren or slick.

The interesting thing about this photo above is how it simultaneously
shows the "Boundary Layer" of wind and snow over the crest of the
Summit peak here, but at the same time, looking at the snow being
displaced by the edge of the Skier in Pink, you can clearly see that the
surface has retained enough loose snow to provide more than adequate
grip and traction.

Just Over The Summit On The First Pitch Of Duncan....

This section of Duncan that can be Slick and a bit difficult to
find grip on, had a nice band of Soft Snow on both outboard
sides, so with long lateral traverse's, it was possible to use those
soft areas to make stepped or snowplow based turns safely.

Today's Weather...

A Lot Warmer, projected day-time high at -4 to -2 C, depending on your
source, under overcast sky's with the possibility of a slight fresh dusting
of snow. Light, Sou-West winds coming up to and across the Summit from the
Soleil Sector.

Summary:
A super easy winter day with immaculate, fun conditions!

(Please Note: We have a very unusual occurrence in
the Info. posted by Tremblant.ca this morning.
This data is actually yesterdays preview report for today.
Typically, each new day sees a current report published
between 5:15 and 6:30 A.M., so evidently, there are
circumstances preventing that. We have no idea why that is
and a check of Tremblant.ca's F/B Fan Page simply contains
a link to this preview data.)

Driving back to the Resort Side from Versant Nord, just past the Casino
roundabout, the first 2 of these guys jumped over the snowbank onto the
road directly in front of us. We were able to stop 5 meters or so short, so
no problem, but then the entire group you see here also came over the bank
with out so much as a look or a care, and dashed across the road while we
fumbled for the camera.

WATCH OUT FOR DEER...
THEY DO NOT "LOOK BEFORE THEY LEAP"

onto the road directly in front of you. Drive with caution in areas with bush
close to the roadside.
