West Coast L.A. California Time... 7:30 A.M. Essex County, U.K., GMT.
2:30 A.M. Local EST. @ Tremblant....
It may be raining in many places regionally here on the East Coast
of North America, but it's SNOWING at Tremblant!
North Base, Snowfall. It's not fancy photography, but it tells a beautiful story for
Tremblant fans everywhere that take comfort from knowing
that Winter is Alive and Well, here at Tremblant!
Groomer Passing The Summit Traffic Signal, in front
of Gondola off-load zone. As usual, Mountain Crews don't sleep when there's work to be done
and here's the evidence as we see the Night Shift doing their thing
to have it all as pristine as possible for the morning.
Even though the South Base Temp right now is +1 C, temps are forecasted
to drop by morning and we should see a return to sub-zero day-time temps.
Due to it's higher elevation, the Summit has been spared from any significant
effects of "warm", so we're quite hopeful the morning Web Cam views will
show nothing but SNOW!
The morning report here is going to be all about "Transitions"....
The Sun's getting higher, days are getting longer... but we've
still got a lot of "Winter" left to go...
Good Looking Weather Forecast...
as per highlights added. We really like the
stable, overnight low's as shown by green underline.

--------- Mid-Afternoon Update --->>>
Temps get up to Plus 4 for a couple hours...
We'll have to see how that pans out Tomo Morn.

95(*) Open Trails on the warmer sides
of Tremblant.
Let's hope, not too much warmer...
...but it does look like we'll have a couple of days with
South Side Base day-time high temps of right around zero,
so be prepared for some "Spring" in the conditions.
Sorry for "late" reporting this A.M., out of office chores
necessitate time-shift temporarily.... C'est la vie....
Anyway, things are, may be, or could off and on, be a bit foggy at the
Summit today, like yesterday....
How Foggy Was It ??? .... It was so foggy, you couldn't see 10 meters away at times....
but it was variable to a degree, so there were times of greater
distance sight, but no doubt, "Pea Soup" was the Soup du Jour
as far as the vision went right at the Summit for much of the day.
It Is Very Important To Note: ...it wasn't just fog... there was Fresh
Falling Snow too... Also Important to note that it did not affect Goggle performance
either.
Fortunately, the Summit was well below Zero all day due to it's
higher elevation, so there was never any danger of thaw and
all that ever happened was that "Excellent" got more "Excellent"
as accumulations became greater.
Just Below The Summit... The fog, which of course is actually
just low cloud, became much less thick, but never-the-less
continued to make snow, and at times, on the North at least,
quite a bit of it...
Consequently, here's what you can find at Tremblant today... Not only beautiful to Ski, but unquestionably beautiful to
look at.
This Next Photo Below... is just below parallel to the picture above.
The cloud line you can see below, which is some 200 vertical feet
below the Summit, is almost right at the line that the above picture
was taken at, and there is less than half an hour between the two.
Riding Up Duncan, Last pitch before the Summit which is just
above the cloud ceiling shown here. Notes on the Pic. Above...
- using a "Wide Angle" lens setting allows more scope in the pic., but
makes the chair in front look farther away
- no camera we're aware of can capture the subtle change in the
colour appearance of the cloud looking horizontally across its "ceiling",
as opposed to looking straight up, which is when you realize how thin
this cloud layer can be at times... because, looking straight up, you could
see "blue" through the cloud. If you did not look up, you did not see this,
if you didn't lift your goggles, you didn't see this, but if you look at this
"big picture" there's a brightness in the upper edges, and that was the sun
trying to burn through. Close, but never happened.

Expo Got Winch Groomed flat(Secure Wire To Top To Stabilize Groomer Travel),
earlier in the week, so it's actually very nicely ski-able. Other Field Report Notes...
A bit of icy in places on Grand Prix.
Taschereau improved from earlier in the week...
As usual, P'tit Bonheur gets...
"The Most Reliable Run Of The Century",
Our Friend DJKidSL reports Soleil was good enough
for an extended Groove... Thanks for the F/B feedback Sacha...
Our umpteenth Tremblant time friends from Gerrards Cross,
Buckinghamshire, U.K., came all the way over to do a field test
and report on Algonquin, and the news was all good on that...
Lot'sa People on the Lifts were ecstatic that it's warmer out...
24 degrees C warmer from earlier in the week...
We know they've been working on the Duncan Quad to correct a timing
glitch. We've not been stuck on it for more than a few seconds, others
report they have, but they are definitely working on it. You have to
remember, when it comes to lifts, there's miles and miles of electrical wire,
sensors, switches, thousands of mechanical bits 'n pieces, and on top
of that... there's computers too. Oh, Oh... there's trouble!
