Apres Ski Edit... @ 9:45 P.M.
Show Us The Snow, Mother Nature.... (please...)
Indications are that we're returning to a more
stable winter weather pattern of Sub-Zero daily
temp cycles.
That would be good.
Reminder that Mother Natures own, best natural snowmaking temps
are at -5 degrees C, +/- 2 degrees C, so at least in theory, we're in
a good spot. The overwhelming probability is it's a matter of "when",
not a matter of "if".
Looks like there's going to be a new terrain feature at the North Base
of the Duncan Quad. We have some Web Cam Snap Shots on that project
we're going to try to organize a bit later. We'll put them in a "reply", below,
hopefully before mid-night EST.

95(*) Open Trails on 100% Open Tremblant!
Very happy to record the return to completely 100% open
as it's a beautifully long run of very fine conditions here.
Every day that trend continues is a gift for those
fortunate enough to be on the Mountain now.
Before we go any further...
----------------- North Park Archive's, Feb. 9th, 2012 --------------
Back on Feb. 20th we ran a North Park Trick Pic., and as we've been
going through the other pic.files we found, quite by coincidence, that
we'd snapped the same Skier a few moments later on the lower jump
line of Rope Tow. We have no idea who the person is, and we may
never know, but these two pic's deserve to be, and/or belong together
anyway, so we're tossing them in here just for the fun of it.....
Great Moves on a Great Day!
Hope to catch ya again sometime!

Weather Wise...
Mother Nature continues to sit on the fence, so to speak, with
temperatures, at least, and this morning at -1 C is 4 degrees C
warmer than the forecast predicted for this time.
Ski And Board Conditions Are Excellent. Period.
That does not mean there are no glitches, that's impossible, but
within comparative frames of reference, the conditions at
Tremblant right now are exceptionally fine and very worthy of
every effort to get out and enjoy them.
Best in the Laurentian's ???
We think that's an easy "Yes" due to Tremblant's higher elevations,
Northerly Latitude, and Impeccable Grooming on its vast acreage,
a combination that delivers the best Ski/Board value around, especially
if you're skiing for free today with your T66 Pass!
By the way...Anybody that complains about expense when they could have had
10 days this season at Tremblant for roughly $27.00 a day with the T66 is nuts.
Maybe that's a bit harsh, but seriously, we know people who think
nothing of throwing $250.00 at booze, food, entertainment or whatever
on a weekend, then complain about the cost of Skiing when they could
have put that into a T66 once, and had a whole season of excellent.
Back to the Weather....
Humans have amused themselves talking about the weather
since we could stand up straight enough to look at the sky,
or before we found shelter in caves. Despite the fact that modern
science theoretically gives us a better shot at predicting, it seems
remarkable that the accuracy hasn't been a wee bit closer over
this past run of 3 or 4 days.
Mother Nature has consistently done just about the opposite
of the predictions, but we think we know why...
We think the answer lies in "Tipping Points" i.e. when things
could go either way. Being this close to the freezing mark,
combined with the naturally variable range that can occur
on a daily basis goes right back to the weather theme we've
been interested in for the past week or so... "Transitions".
"Transitions" by their very nature, and even definition, suggest
the possibility of a back and forth, up or down variability.
If it was as simple as one way up, down, back, forth then it
would be "Transition" i.e. singular, as opposed to "Transitions"
plural.
Too fine a point you say? Not really if you think about "How many
ways does the wind blow" a saying we use to describe any number
of potential outcomes for life, but particularly applicable to weather
at a Ski Resort.
We can expect the unexpected from now until the end of the season
and the value in recognizing that is the knowledge that we need to
be not only ready for any kind of weather, but to have the most fun
Skiing or Boarding in any weather with adaptive gear, techniques
and perhaps most importantly, positive attitude.
At this early point in the morning with both Overcast and Sunny in
the day's mix, it could maybe go either way, but no matter what
Mother Nature does, it's going to be an excellent day at Tremblant.
There's just way too much snow around here to be anything else.
