.
The sun we were supposed to get yesterday did not materialize quite the way it was forecast.
Consequently, things did not soften up quite as much as they would have if there had been more thermal energy on the surfaces, however, there is a silver lining in that cloud which is that the "Soft to Solid" cycle that occurs overnight after a sunny day will not be so sharply contrasted.
In terms of forecasting, the best news is that we expect FRESH SNOW over the next few days. Yes, it has been a while since we have had any significant new snow, so we are due.
If we do get this new snow, it will put Tremblant into the best shape it has been in, possibly all season, due to the density of the base. All the weather cycles we have gotten over the last week to 10 days has generated just about the most solid base imaginable.
We wrote last Wed that the warm weather was spring skiing with a twist, which was that there were no bare spots, so now that the base has gotten nice and frozen again, new snow over it would have an incredibly, complete, durable sub-structure to both lay over and grip to.
In the mean time, the Skiing and Boarding are going to be great today due to the ongoing restoration of surface conditions through use, grooming and sun.
