29(*) Open Trails On South/North Sides of Tremblant.
Open Trail Count Jumps up by 8 for one of the
biggest weekends of the Tremblant calendar.
"Caribou Cup" Weekend!
Starts out Minus C, moving up to Plus 5 C or so,
under Super Sunny Clear Blue Sky's... perfect Spring...
The Signs of Spring are Clear. But at least we got our "White" back for a little while....
The recent day and a half Natural Snow Event, plus some last
minute Snowmaking by Tremblant's Mountain Crews has
miraculously renewed both the distant view as above from
across Lac Tremblant, but below, in any close-up of the
surface conditions you care to look at while standing on
the Smooooth, Snowy, and Fast Surfaces of the Open
Tremblant Alpine Terrain.
The additional Open Terrain on Both South And North is
always welcome, but especially now, after the recent
Heat Wave that literally took out most of the Skiable
Alpine Terrain in Eastern North America and rendered
them "Closed".
Not So At Tremblant!
This pic below, was taken on P'tit Bonheur about 14 hours ago
and it will look like this until further notice....
You Can Do This At Tremblant All Day If You Want To....
29(*) Open Trails on the Official, Downloadable,
PDF, Trail and Grooming status report,
Courtesy of Tremblant.ca Please Note: There are some "Progressive", or Gradual labeled Openings,
but we would expect those to clear fairly quickly.
A good example is Duncan.
Listed above for today as a Progressive opening, this past week, Duncan was
available from the Upper Mid-Point Cat Track, crossing from Lowell
Thomas to Duncan. In this pic. below, taken yesterday afternoon,
you can see where some people have been "Testing" the new terrain
from the above described access on the lower Screen.
It just so happens we thought it might be back on line for today,
so we took this Telephoto hoping so, in order that we can have a look
at the basis for what's going to be available.
As you can see by the telephoto, it is not groomed. it does not
show on the Official PDF as Groomed either, so it should still
look like this today. If so, it will not necessarily be the equivalent
of it's normal "Blue" Skill Level, and in this natural, un-groomed
state may require advanced skills. It may be posted accordingly
by the Ski Patrol on the actual run itself. We'll go for a look and
get back to you on that one.
Below....
In the Mean-Time, you should try to put yourself into
the picture any way you can. Like this Boarder here,
all you've got to look forward to are enjoyable hours
of Tremblant Alpine Boarding or Skiing on surfaces
that are very close to perfect.
No doubt, when you look at some of the backgrounds,
particularly on the South, the evidence is clear on the trail
sides that "Spring" is in the air. Recent warm weather reduced
the winter white ambience, which has gotten a nice refresher
this past Wed/Thurs., but the surfaces on many of the descents
available today are as good as any mid-winter day we've had this
season.... believe it or not.
You can still find much of that winter ambience, at least for today
and hopefully tomorrow, on the Summit Sectors of Open North
Side Terrain like our old favourite shown here, below. Hard to believe
that this magnificent, brilliantly designed trail has been so close to
perfect every single day of this season.... every single day.
P'tit Bonheur... Our "Trail of the Decade" candidate.
Earlier in the week we wrote:
"If you could have been here, but chose not to be, you made a critical error.
Absolutely impeccable fast carving nirvana on the chosen few.
Stunning Signature Tremblant Views."
That Definitely Applies Today!
Hurry Up !!!
