With only 4 days left in the Season(particularly when Tremblant
has survived when most other regional areas have had to close),
we're thrilled to have as much very fine Alpine terrain Open with
the quality of Grooming that is here right now.

"The Chosen Few" as we call them are in excellent condition.
When you take into account how much "Heat" they have had to
withstand, it is a remarkable testament to the Skills of the
Tremblant Mountain Crews and the inherent "Lay of the Land"
(in terms of peak elevation and the durability of the deep winter
base at Tremblant), that this much has survived, as well as it has.

Much of the North's Groomed Open Terrain has very "Winter-Like",
high speed carve-able surfaces first thing, and sometimes all day,
every day, after the sub-zero overnight's that have been consistent
for the recent time period.

Below... Not hard to tell there's excellent "Edge Hold" and
"Grip" properties in these North Side surfaces.

Even on the Softest South, with proper base prep. and a well
centred and angulated, compact stance, the surfaces have a very
easy "Shred Factor" that will allow not only solid carving, but
loads of fun and great exercise for as many hours as you have
muscle to back it up.

T360 Apres Ski....

More Winter-like than we may have expected, still "Spring" of course,
but no doubt that the cooler temp's, drier wind and less sun than forecast
created an overall more seasonal feeling day than the recent "Micro-Wave
On High" heat wave weather.

You can see what we mean with this Snow Characteristic Close Up taken at the
top of the Expo Quad. The wind in this area was moving at quite a clip and it's
clear how it is shaping contours.

The main point is that it's not melting... at least not here.

As a matter of fact, in this sector, the snow is obviously dry, with
a compacted surface crust and almost zero internal moisture.

It is melting in other places, consistent with levels of Solar energy that are
making it through to the ground where there is not so much wind or more directly
facing the sun.

In other words, conditions are holding very well as we see the final days of the season
looming up, all too close.

We still have 3 more days of beautiful carving ahead. If you are a local/regional
Tremblant fan it's not too late to get another day or two in, if you choose,
and we hope you do.

You can still do this for hours on end....

You don't really encounter too much soft stuff until you get to the
bottom sections of both sides. Very important to remember that when
do you encounter the "Thick", heavy, snow... that you slow down and
maintain a low, compact position so you can react to variable resistance
levels.

You can see the shaded fast side of Beauchemin below. You can also see
the thicker stuff, off the high traffic side, screen right. You can also see the
result of too much speed(scroll screen laterally--->>> to see complete
image), when unprepared for a huge increase in forward resistance. The
upper body wants to keep moving due to momentum, but the increased
friction immediately decelerates the skis/feet/lower body, causing an
instant forward tumble.

All that aside... it was still great day for the North Park that enjoyed
the Super High Quality of the drier snow at Summit elevations...

Tomorrow is forecasted to be very Sunny, quite a bit warmer
and therefore a whole lot more like "Spring" again.
