hours now and still going strong!!!

right now!
Yesterdays 16 has jumped to 28 so we feel elated about
the prospects of so much new open terrain... Good thing too,
when today is the day that we witness the Largest Ski Resort
area Children's Charity Fundraiser in North America...
The 24 Hours of Tremblant, Marathon Ski/Board Fundraiser!

There's no doubt that the Fundraising makes a huge difference in
the lives of Kid's who benefit from the dollars in research and support
that make their lives better.... but that's not all....
The event brings out many to share in the Mountain experience that
otherwise, might never get to share in this.
We think this aspect represents a big part of the heart of this event.

Special Part Of The 24 Hour Children's Charity Event!
Please note: Dedicated Summit and South Side Terrain utilized for the
Charity Marathon is not available for public access during the event.
There are designated spectator zones.
There are still South side publicly available trails and the entire North
side open trail selection for all those out for a beautiful day on the slopes!
So, for all those regular Mountain guests out for a day of fine
Skiing/Boarding....
What was being built and groomed yesterday, will be smooth
and fast today!
Below: Mountain Crews are spreading out the Snowmaking team's
on-slope inventory to produce first rate surface quality from day 1.

As previously reviewed, and definitely worth mentioning again, years
ago it could take weeks of natural snow accumulation, along with the
earliest forms of Snowmaking technology to produce what Tremblant
Mountain Crews can now do in about 5 days. When there are enough
sub-zero hours in the day, as in steady 'round the clock or even overnight
freezings, these crews can cover an amazing amount of acreage, first
with the "Big Bumps" all laid out in a series over the length of a trail,
then, like our pic. above.... spread it all out at once to cover everything
that can be found in the rough natural surface with a smooth topcoat
of beautifully fast and consistent Snow!
All this new terrain will have a medium to fine level of granular
surface layer like this Nansen sample from yesterday, below.

all the new, fresh snow that's falling right this second, and has been
for several hours.

will not only be better surfaces with additional, fresh natural snow, but
the whole look will take on a more winter-like appearance as snow
accumulates in the bush.
