T360 Apres Ski ...@ 5:30 P.M.

Keeping in mind that this is an informational diary, Le Journal du Jour...

This is all you need to know in 2 parts for immediate
Tremblant Visit/Trip planing purposes...

#1....

# 2....

Close Up....
(This second one is a huge pic.file that we had to shrink to fit
on the forum at this size, Sorry about the grainy look, the
important part is all the Snow, and how good it is.

The "Close Up" Exists Everywhere Within The "Big Picture".

If you can go... do it.

There are some minor icy/firm bits, but you know what to do.

We have previous commitments for the eve., so if we can
add, it'll be Apres Midnight probably...the rest is just detail,
interesting, for sure, but not critical to making the decision to go
which hopefully, you'll do A.S.A.P.

More on that below, but first....

Today, we have a 2 item Utility Notice that we ran as a draft
in last night's Apres Ski, as follows:

Item #1...

The "Only Way" to buy new Alpine Snow Sports Gear....

Go To Super Demo Day Today!!!

In an age where so many Skis/Boards are sold out of "BigBoxSportsCo"
in local suburban malls, and never see a snowflake until way after
they're bought, Super Demo Day is a genuine opportunity to
"Try Before You Buy".

Many BigBox retailers want you to believe that it's possible to purchase
appropriate gear without trying it. They have very convincing processes
that match gear with how you tell them you Ski or Board, but there's no
process on Earth that equals the experience of skiing different manufactures
products, one after another.

Super Demo Day gives you the benefit of that opportunity.

Here's a sample of the kinds of Skis you'll be able to demo
today, right from the foot of Johannsen, at the Resort Base
adjacent to the Gondola loading zone.

JF at the Solomon store, is shown below holding a pair of Solomon
high performance slalom skis. Like every single Ski brand rep we
know at Tremblant, his product knowledge is exceptional and
based on experience and use.

Front and centre in the Solomon lineup of great skis is the BBR,
shown below as the Big Blue Skis with the very dramatic sidecut.
These skis are among the forefront of current designs featuring
a rocker, or reverse camber at the wide tip. The benefit to this
configuration is the ability of the ski to initiate turns very easily
as well as track through mixed or uneven surface irregularities
with more stability.

While we're featuring Solomon here for sample
purposes, you'll find a wide selection of many major Ski
industry brands at Super Demo Day.

Item #2:

If you can't remember when you got your Skis/Board Tuned Up...

Do It Now....

We heard some complaints today about icy sectors, but when we asked,
the individuals couldn't remember when they'd had a tuneup, as in "Years Ago"
OMG!!! What are you thinking??? Ski/Board edge performance degrades
gradually with use and a tuneup every 10 to 15 days of Ski/Board use will
make you better on the slopes!!!

You'll have GRIP!!!

Located at the base loading zone of the Cabriolet, on the right hand
side, the Tremblant Ski/Board Service Repair Centre is located in the Chalet
des Voyageurs, and they have...

The Wintersteiger Discovery 3 Axis Automated Ski Tuner.

The machine they have is one of only two in the whole region.
It is the best machine you can get, and is basically the Ski Tuners Ultimate
dream. Fully automated and programmed to deliver maximum dimensional
accuracy, every single time.

You can get this done at the Chalet des Voyageurs, right beside the Cabriolet
Base loading zone.

Todays weather etc.,... Sunny and Cool @ -16C to start.
The sun's energy will build heat up to around -8C, and
the wee overnight cold snap is going to make the Ski/Board
conditions overall excellent. There are some potential slick
zones, mostly on the the steepest of pitches. Those will vary
with traffic today, so use appropriate safety, care and control
before you rip around and WATCH OUT for others who may
not be as good at stoping as you are.

Other info. on today's conditions... Huge,
Really Big Tremblant News!!!

All kinds of work going on around the Mountain!!!

More on the conditions....

You won't believe this, but...

We were taking pic's to illustrate "Shred Depth" of the top layers
which have been getting thicker and thicker each passing day
as a result of daily Grooming efforts of Mountain Crews. So here
we were on Beauchemin focusing on the carved tracks you can see
below when this power carving Telemark Skier drove right through
the frame!

Phuzzy Photo Art ???... but we think it does make the point... SHRED THIS!!!

12.14.12.Beauchemin.Carve.This. Shred.Depth.Sample.jpg (386.75 KiB) Viewed 2777 times
You can see above the almost exact focus on the Snow under
his shadow while his speed, carving angle and depth, not to mention
the intensity of his personal focus are very obvious, regardless
of the slow shutter speed that causes him to look blurred.

Camera settings were way off for his speed, right on to capture the
Snow conditions, so we think it's kind of a cool shot in a photo art
sense.

You'll find these fabulous carving conditions
all over the Mountain, so...

Turn off your computer right this second...

And Head To Tremblant Immediately!!!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
