Don't Be So Silly!!! Go Skiing/Boarding at Tremblant
As Soon As You Can!!! (**)
(**) It is entirely appropriate to head for Tremblant, but....
You Must Do So With Care, Caution, and with an Extreme
Focus On Safety!!! You MUST allow extra transit time,
You Must Proceed at a Reduced Speed and you MUST allow
extra space between yourself and anyone you follow.
You must Expect Delays and Remain Patient behind the wheel.
You MUST check tire pressures, go Point to Point with a full
fuel tank, You MUST carry extreme safety gear, Blankets, Flash Lights,
Sturdy Lug Soled Boots, Parka, Heavy Duty Mitts/Gloves, EXTRA Food
and Water.
You Should NOT DRIVE Without Specific Snow Tires. All Season's
are not safe in this environment.
If you can, coat your vehicles windshield with Rain-X, make sure you
have a sturdy Snow Brush, a collapsable snow shovel.
Plus Anything Else You Can Think Of That Will Enhance Your Safety!!!

led Tremblant Mountain Operations to remove the Gondola Cars from
the main cable for the second time in a week.
In our Tremblant experience of decades, we have not seen this
before, but with all the information at hand, we completely
understand why this is a necessity, and a very wise thing to do.
Extreme Wind, Snow and Ice can very quickly damage the cable cars
as well as the attaching mechanisms, so safely parking the cars out of
harms way is the best thing that can be done to ensure safe, reliable,
future opening with the absolute minimum delay and damage.

dozens of 10X10X10 cable clamped Gondola Cars swinging around in very
high winds, each one acting as a sail as the wind pushes them around,
then add all the weight they would gain from massive snow or ice.
Now imagine the bare cable only in the same weather. The stress on the bare
cable with no Wind/Snow/Ice catchers will be fractional.
It's a no-brainer, and the best possible pro-active decision people.
It's also the quickest, safest way to get us back on the Mountain.

average to have all 4 sides and this much open at Tremblant.
We'll try to look through the stat's today at some point, but
to have 90 open runs 2 days after Christmas is noteworthy,
unusual, and the best present we could wish for under all
the Snow Decorated trees on the very fine slopes here at
Tremblant.
The "More Snow" part is very sweet icing on the Tremblant cake
and while we will probably not get as much as some areas to the
South that are more in line with the centre of this current storm
system, all additional new snow is most welcome in any amounts
and in all forms!
Todays Weather...
starts out quite a bit more "User Friendly" at -5C, up 16C
warmer than yesterday morning, so it will definitely be a lot easier to
deal with, especially with the forecasted very light Nor-East breeze
moving across the Summit from P'tit Bonheur towards Soleil.
There's another huge Snow Storm system just to the South of us that's
socking it in to Upstate New York, Vermont and the Quebec Southern
Townships. We will get the peripheral edges and a nice refresher of white,
but with some 5,000 people in this region still without power for 6 days now
from the big storm last week, there will be many that are relieved to see
that our local infrastructure will not take another big hit with more downed
trees, power lines etc. This system South of us is big and bad enough that
it has already caused 6 fatalities in the U.S. affected areas.
On to today's most positive note...Tremblant Conditions are going to be
nothing short of astounding for this early date in the season.
There's just way too much snow here for it to be anything else,
Period.
Safety Caveat In Effect:
It will be critical to match your skill sets with the posted Trail ratings
due to challenging natural deep snow accumulations. Watch out for
A La Carte temporary sign placements by the Ski Patrol and
PAY ATTENTION to them! These are circumstances when posted Blue or
even Green's can require "Expert" techniques and the Ski Patrol will
put signs up where ever they need to to advise Mountain Guests.
All the Groomed Terrain will be a Snow White Winter Wonderland
of Pure Tremblant Magic!
