80(*) Open Trails on the still sub-zero, still winter...
4 sides of Tremblant.
All Day .... All Week....
...if the Weather tracks along as forecast....
We think this could be a pivotal week for conditions within
the North Eastern Coastal sector of North America because
of a line crossing in a shallow diagonal that basically goes
west to east over the St. Lawrence River Valley.
Above the line temps will be sub-zero, below the line, temps may
be above zero daytime, below zero night-time.
There may be times when the either end of the line is higher or lower
than the opposite end. There may be times when the entire line moves
up or down, above or below the original orientation.
All the current actual temp stat's as well as weather forecast models
show Tremblant to be above that line.
The benefits to "Skiing" and "Boarding" are going to be obvious.
The benefits to being at Tremblant are going to be more obvious
the longer this pattern remains as it is.
As long as the weather patterns stay within or lower than the
forecasted values shown in all the annotated graphic's we've
shown over the last 3 days, conditions at Tremblant are going
to be just as excellent in the near term future as they are right
this moment.
Shred depth, the depth your Skis or Board can carve into the
surface will do nothing but increase all week long and as the lead
photo at the top of this page illustrates... it's excellent to begin with.
Nice, crisp overnights with some new snow and consistently sub-zero
days combined with the daily work of Mountain Crews should
generate one of the finest periods of Alpine Snow Sport this
season.
Based on current weather models, that period could go on for as long
as two, three weeks or more.
We feel Tremblant will therefore have a substantial conditions benefit
over it's regional Ski Resort peers because the probability is that while
we're enjoying snow, and winter, they will unfortunately experience rain
and warm for much of this week. That will impact unfavourably on
their conditions for the next several weeks.
