95/95(*) 100% Open Trails at Tremblant.
The Skiing/Boarding today will be very, very fine.
Depending on how Mother Nature floats the daytime highs,
it could remain this way for up to the next two weeks in a
best case scenario, but...
Fortunately, or Unfortunately.... depending on how you see it....
Spring is just around the corner....
We love the seasons, no doubt, but Winter holds a unique place
in our hearts which February highlights because of it's combination
of longer, more direct daylight(consequently more Ski/Board time
every single day), the complete Mountain Surface coverage maintained
and held by Mother Natures deep frost into the Bedrock... and the
relatively undisturbed snow accumulations up 'til now. As well, the
statistically milder average daytime temperatures are logistically,
easier to cope with.
100%, Pure Winter Tremblant.
No matter how much we love, or look forward to Spring,
we're still going to miss this...
or this....
or this....
Inevitably though, as February matures and gets closer to March the
upward trend of daytime high temps does cross over from Below
Zero to Above.
Today is the first day of 2013 where the 30 year average daytime high
temp value shows a moving average forward in the long term forecast of
"Plus" values... not much, only a degree or two, but "Plus" non-the-less.
It just takes us a while to come to grips with the passage out of pure
Winter conditions that we enjoy so dearly.
If you use the "Previous Topic" button, upper screen right to scroll back
through the recent Tremblant days, you'll see we've attached a lot of
attention to the advantages of Tremblant's winter attributes of "North"
and pure winter conditions.
Generally, there's very little ice in the base, although every winter has it's
January/February Thaws and/or rain incidents, but typically they are of
short duration, get recovered from quickly and we get back to solidly
day-after-day,100%, full Mountain winter snow coverage.
Comparing Winter's consistency to Spring's warm sunny days and
cold nights with the everyday cycle of "Firm"/"Soft" that frequently
occurs, simply means making the more focused efforts necessary to
handle surfaces that may have daily freeze and thaw exposures.
You already know the solution... tuned gear.

With the shift towards "Plus", the steady days of Winter are dwindling
and so we have to be ready for the alternating day/night warm/cool
cycles that are on the way.
Go see these guy's...
Le.Ski.Shop.Chalet.Des.Voyageurs.Cabriolet.Base.
Here is their Menu...
Once they get your bases Blueprint Flat and Levelled...
they put 'em through the Wintersteiger Discovery Multi Axis
automated Ski Tuner and the results are extraordinary...
...for the discounted overnight rate, the results are the Ski/Board
tuning bargain of the decade....
