93(*) Open Trails on the 4 Snowy Sides of Tremblant!
Getting ready to head off to the Mountain, one final glimpse
of the Web Cams to make sure the weather's close to the
forecast.....
Definitely Sunny ....
Bright Sunlight and Shadows, nice, well defined shadows.
Definitely Groomed...
Corduroy as far as the eye can see.
Definitely Beautiful...
Without question... Without doubt.... Every single day at Tremblant is beautiful.

Can You Carve This ???
Today may well be one of the best days of the season.
Very fine easy weather with magnificent signature Tremblant views,
Very fine super easy Snow Surfaces of the highest possible quality.
You will find these outstanding Alpine Winter Snow Sports Surfaces
all day long. Not Unless You're Here!
P'tit Bonheur is going to be only one of dozens and dozens of very
close to perfectly groomed trails on the scenic, gorgeous slopes of
Tremblant today.
We don't think you'll be able to make a bad decision within any posted skill
level.
And speaking of Skill Levels... Above and Below.... The versatility of
the Groomed Open terrain at Tremblant continues to be one of the very
top highlights of our days at Tremblant.
Above you can see that when there's zero traffic and the conditions are safe,
you can do extreme short radius carving to the point of being leaned over far
enough to touch the snow with your hands. This is not fast high speed or
reckless carving, it is technically precise relatively low speed, but very high
centrifugal force carving that requires the nuance of exact balance between
speed, angles and muscle control at expert levels.
Below, you are looking at the very same slope as above, but this POV is facing
down while the one above is looking up.
There are 2 points below...
1) We have an example of a beginner who is obviously very tentative but,
none-the-less, under the guidance of a Tremblant Instructor...
is Skiing From the Summit of Tremblant, an accomplishment that any
beginner should be proud of.
2) The exact same slope can be shared and enjoyed by all Skill levels
when the safe conditions permit.
Mountain Crews have had several days of very stable, just sub-zero temp
ranges to groom and refine and the product of their efforts will be as you see
above, where-ever they have applied their time and care.
As we mentioned yesterday, there may be odd glitches due to the wind driven
forces of Mother Nature from a few days ago. We think Zig-Zag and Vertige
are still off-line for that reason, so you'll need to be careful around certain
crests and wide open exposed areas, or high traffic wear zones, any of which
may show changeable natural hazard spots. Most of those however, will be
in the "Expert" terrain where steepness is also a factor, so Beginners and
Intermediates should be able to enjoy miles and miles of pure, uninterrupted
silky smooth 100% Snow Surfaces that are very easy to navigate.
Todays Weather.... besides being ultra-sunny, which we've not seen for a
couple of weeks, is supposed to briefly touch +5C at South Base levels.
At that point, every degree counts because 5C cooler is the typical spread
to the Summit.
Thankfully, it's a moderate to light North Wind, so there will not be any kind
of wild "Blow Dryer" effect on the sun drenched lower South side slopes.
The over-night lows are forecasted to back to -8C and that will mark the
beginning of the annual Spring daily Freeze thaw cycles, at least on the
lower South.
Summit and North sectors will show less, if any effects, and with evening
grooming, we hope tomorrow morning will still have some pure winter
left around.... time will tell.
If the wind has been light enough, and the "Cold Air Sinks" part of convection
can occur from the upper/Summit sectors during the day today, maybe even
the South may not show much change if they've been washed downward by
enough cool air.
