What you need to Know about Tremblant tonight...
There is a very vigorous snowfall event occurring at Tremblant right now. Loads of Traction, Loads 'o Snow!
At this stage, the wind is light enough that the snow is accumulating
fairly evenly on all sides of the Mountain, however there are some
wind induced Lee-side fill-in and Drifting.
Some of the sheltered, narrower, tree lined trails are getting
and retaining very high quality, light, dry Powder Snow in
the form of quarter-size flakes in a dense, straight down snowfall.
Welcome Back To Winter at Tremblant!

Mountain Crews will have pulled yet another All-Nighter to refine
as much acreage as possible, so the level of surface quality will
rise in both the smaller finer crystal size as well as the depth of
the top layer with the net effect of a more uniform Winter-like
coverage.
So then...
This Below....
Yesterday, Tremblant's Summit at "Last Run" Plus This Below....
Ongoing Daily Grooming.... You end up with some very fine Skiing and Boarding...
Short Editorial On Glitches, Relativity, and Experts:
"Fine Skiing and Boarding" ... at this time of season, that is a relative thing.
This is not mid-February with uninterrupted, pure winter conditions. This is
"Spring" and we've just come through a warm/thaw cycle and we're really
lucky because up until that point, we'd had pure Winter conditions since
January 31st.
Vermont went through the same type of "Thermal Event", but it started there
almost 3 weeks ago, and it lasted there for a week. They've been dealing with
the effects since then.
This is why we're so thankful for "North" latitude because Relatively Speaking,
Tremblant escaped those early and "South" latitude thermal events and we've
had the benefit of fine winter quality for much longer.
At this point then, we feel very fortunate to have the very decent base we do
and we're also very positive in our attitude towards how well Tremblant
has been able to bounce back from these completely normal late season
temperature swings.
Of course there are glitches and natural hazards, nothing is ever perfect,
but the Pro's on this Mountain Team are very very experienced, and very
very good at making the best possible quality out of what Mother Nature
throws at them.
We have to adapt, cope and make the best of it too, so we have little
tolerance for whiners and complainers that have unrealistic concepts
about how Humans should be able to control the weather or it's effects.
We need to learn and grow our own skill sets to maximize enjoyment on
the Open terrain and we're still excited to get out there every single day
to figure out how to make the best of it and become better skiers.
The whole reason we're reflecting on this topic is because of a posting on
Tremblant's Facebook page by a disgruntled Visitor who slammed them,
basically, for not being able to control Mother Nature on a day that we
and our guests that we have visiting from Ontario had a great day!
We get slammed here for being "Too Positive", but for goodness sake,
what else can you do other than try, try try, to make the best of things
as Mother Nature presents them, and we encourage everyone else we
know to do the same thing. Effective coping when things might not
be ideal, turns you into an expert or makes you a better expert.

You don't need to tell these guy's it's a great day at Tremblant...
They already know it, and nothings going to stop them from having fun
in any weather....
Top Entrance to Toboggan, Left Side, facing down. Todays weather, -9C under partially sunny sky's... maybe some
more snow and a moderate South Breeze... an easy winter day...
More later... thanks very much for your visit now and any other
time you drop by.
