T360 Apres Ski Intro... @ 8:45 P.M.

It looks quiet, even peaceful at the Summit entrance
to beautiful, iconic, P'tit Bonheur...

Fluffy white clouds floating by as they leisurely cross the deep blue sky
background...

The breeze's actually feel like breezes, not the cold winds of winter,
but soothing, even comforting breezes, very welcome cooling too...

Compared to the sub-zero chill of this morning, it feels hot at this
afternoon's high temp point....

88(*) Open Trails on 3 Sides of "Spring" Tremblant!

The "Too Easy" Temperatures are a sure sign of "Spring".

Even with a bit of overcast, you could feel heat energy
in the air and on the softer South Side descents in the
fullness of yesterdays very pleasant afternoon.

Those sensations of "warm" may be even greater today, if the
sun comes out the way they expect, and if the temps get up to
the forecasted Plus 4 C.

Otherwise....

This should give you an idea of what to expect all day today at Tremblant....

Above:
We did an Edge Sector feature yesterday and we're using an
overhead Chair Lift shot of the very fine surfaces on "Action",
which were typical of everything we skied.... everywhere.

There were very few glitches anywhere. The odd little icy
patch from wind or traffic exposed base, but once you recognized
where they might happen, it was quite easy to keep a slow
speed to navigate through. We often talk about Patterns of
conditions on the Mountain, similar forms of wind, wear or natural
contour areas that have common situations. Learn to spot them
and you'll have a safer day.

For Experts and Super Confident Athletic Intermediates:

Cossack, Versant Nord, The North Side, "Winch Groomed" Last Night.

Off the Summit of the Expo Quad Lift, turn hard left to reach this
local favourite that is going to be in extraordinarily fine shape today...

There are many days when Cossak would not be advisable for those wanting to
advance skills, but when it's as flat as a pancake.... that's when a confident,
athletic intermediate can begin to step up their skills. Not having to worry
about irregular and often deep moguls allows those wanting to learn, the
opportunity to use their basic stopping skills to control descent speed with either
alternating side to side "Hockey Stops", parallel skidding to stop, or wedge shape
Snowplow based alternating turn sequences. The secret is to never let speed
build and if necessary, to stop all forward motion on each turn, even if it's
only for a moment.

Here's another Groomed Treat today... Banzai, a T360 Favourite.

The Very Close To Perfect Corduroy Of Fuddle-Duddle and everything else
on the Grooming schedule for yesterday's Grooming Night Shift.

Parked on the North, we hung around after Last Run to see a bit of
the daily maintenance Mountain Grooming Crews do. We're fascinated by
all things mechanical so observing and appreciating this aspect of what we
enjoy in terms of daily fine surface preparation is both interesting and advances
our understanding.

At 5:50 P.M. 99.9 % of Mountain Skiers and Boarders are in the bar, driving
somewhere, soaking sore muscles in a Hot-Tub, making dinner, having a
rejuvenating Apres Ski Nap, Watching T.V., updating their Facebook, Twitter
or eMails, etc., etc., etc. ...

...while these guys are just getting started....

The Point Is...

We get to Ski and Board the Very Fine work of this team, but we
rarely ever get to thank them personally for the great joy they
contribute to our precious Winter Alpine Snow Sports.

Merci Stéphane et tous les autres membres de votre équipe.
Nous apprécions tout ce que vous faites chaque jour.

((**)Thank You Stephane and all the other members of your team.
We appreciate all you do... every single day.)

As we enter into the solidly "Spring" phase at Tremblant, the work
of the Grooming Crews will become one of the most important elements
of daily Surface quality because of the typical overnight sub-zero's and the
wear patterns that occur during the above-zero's of the day when the softness
allows quick and sometimes dramatic Mogul formation.

If this Crew did not do what they do, things would become frozen
and very lumpy overnight, so they are the key to daily "Smooth".

Lucky for all Tremblant Guests... the members of this team are Masters
of the Mountain's surfaces and we want them to know how thankful we are!

What we like are the bright, vibrant colours of the outfits and gear
contrasted against the background....

Thinking further though, we realized the real colour of fun is....

White....
and we're so thankful there's so much of it at Tremblant right now...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
