One day of "Spring".
We currently have +1C, and the forecast is for a rain snow mix with a high temp of +5C.
So far, at least at the summit, we have not had too much of the rain, as there is still snow in the trees.
We show 65 open runs this morning due to the closure of the Edge and Soleil due to the forecast. We must bear in mind that the Mountain Crews will be doing the best they can to preserve the surfaces and keep the base as much as possible.
LAST RUN NOW EXTENDED TO 4:00 P.M. THIS IS A SCHEDULED TIME SHIFT AS A RESULT OF LONGER DAYLIGHT HOURS!
For those that are prepared, namely, if you have your Decsente Poncho, today will be a wonderful day of spring skiing.
Based on what we see from the Web Cams this morning, the visibility may be slightly better than the "Pea Soup" cloud that we had yesterday. Hopefully, that will be the reality today because that lack of visibility, even though the surface quality was very good, was the main drawback of yesterdays conditions.
Otherwise, Spring Skiing is Spring Skiing... that is to say, the grip level of Spring snow is always good and the extra resistance created by surface moisture means you can Ski or Board steeper runs with a higher level of control. There are lots of people who think that Spring Conditions are lots of fun. Considering that there is not much we can do about the weather, it is up to us to cheerfully cope with Mother Natures ways with a positive attitude and go looking for the Best Sides of Tremblant.
You can ALWAYS find good skiing or boarding somewhere
at Tremblant, no matter what the weather, and that will be especially
true today. It is up to us to explore the Mountain to find it, so keep
on smiling and make the best of your day on the slopes!
