The Very Fine Spring Slopes Of Tremblant...

Your Day At Tremblant Start's Out Like This...

It just goes on and on and on and on... there's miles 'n miles of it! The Corduroy of the Summit sectors will be the least effected by daily
temp swings.... so far.... because it has not yet achieved a fully heated state
the way the base levels at lower elevation have. There will be vast Summit
and North sectors that should be quite winter-like first thing. There will be
Mid-Mountain and Base sectors that are frozen first thing and will need the
solar energy to soften them up. That should occur around 10:00 A.M.

Then....

You can do this all day long... well, at least all day after it softens up a
wee bit... The Tremblant Colours of Fun!

Yesterday, Last Run, La Crete, Summit Sector... Please Note:

1) Snow in the trees... an excellent sign that even after two days of warm
sunny temps, Winter Snow still exists at Tremblant.

2) Snow in the air... As we left the Summit at Last Run... it was snowing.
not a lot, but snow in any amount, at any time, is very welcome.

Today starts out super sunny, and they're forecasting incoming overcast
and "Showers" for later on. So far, the animated weather radar map does
not show any cloud within 200 Km of St. Jovite and with a fairly light wind,
we're wondering if it's even possible, but who knows... we'll have a better
idea Apres Ski.

Yesterday saw a very sunny start also, but by just after noon, the
billowing clouds came across throwing huge shadows that moved
over entire sectors.

We ran this first one below in last night's Apres Ski and we're putting it in
here again because we found another while pic. processing last night, that
ties in with it in terms of how it looked from far away, and then, standing
on the Summit itself... Second Pic below... Both these pics were taken within
1/2 hour.
The big shadow you can see over the left side of the pic. above was created
by the train of cloud that seemed to flow in a very linear way for quite a while.
It took us about 1/2 hour to get from "A" above, to "B" below, but the big line
of cloud was still shadowing the same area which you can see below as the
quite a bit darker and shaded Edge Sector and far peaks under the same
dark cloud. The Summit of Tremblant stayed Sunlit the entire time.
We did a...

North Side, Andy-Moe to Axle, to Lowell Thomas Bas, Lower, to Gagnon,
to Sissy Schuss, to lower Fuddle-Duddle lap yesterday afternoon, and...
Lowell Thomas Bas, Lower, was in the best shape it's been in in twenty years.

Yesterday was just about the most perfect lap we've had of this great descent
path and we expect it to be the same today... we'll let you know.

The route described above is only one of thousands of combinations you can
use at Tremblant right now and we think there's a very good chance your
favourites are in equally great shape. Go now, if you can.


Temperature wise today... it's supposed to be the same as yesterday @ +6 C.

Oh well, sunny, warm Spring Skiing... enjoy it while it lasts.

T360 Prime Time Apres Ski, @ 8:30 P.M.

First off, the Andy-Moe, Axle, Lowell T, Sissy, Fuddle to North base described above
was better today because the snow was faster.... as noted above, it was excellent to begin with.

Expo was easy too, if you were patient, and kept a low compact stance.
It needed a bit of muscle, but was very softly skiable.


Please Note: Todays on/off grey light was a challenge for amateur photography.
We chose to implement a default setting that highlights the snow surface
condition over any other priority. This is a ski conditions report, first and
foremost, so Snow Surface Quality is what we want to prioritize. All of the North kept very good conditions all day after the initial warm-up.

The South developed some very adhesive like wet under foot sections where
forward resistance was very high. They were mostly on the lower sectors.
Above:
Skied Algonquin over on Soleil and it was very smooth for
the entire descent.

There were "Rock" Hazard signs posted, but we did not encounter
any significant glitches.

There were 2 or 3 portions that had centre bareness, but we navigated
them all by simply using the 5 to 8 metre wide left hand side next to the bush
where there was a band of very soft easy snow left by groomers and traffic.

and this year it's Tremblant!

So Far, So Good, by all accounts. We hope you come back!


It does not matter what the weather's doing... you'll always
find a Sunny Smile from the Tremblant Summit Info. Crews
an the Summit Customer Service Staff.
We refer people to them all the time and we've never had anything
other than great reports on all their efforts.

With appropriate seasonal tuning, the Skiing will be good, no
matter what the weather...
