4/2/13 Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

T360 Early Apres Ski Edit @ 4:50 P.M.

The Official, Preliminary Snow Report shows an increase
in the Open Trail Count to go to 54(*) from todays 40(*).

We post the list by Trail Name below in "Reply"...

We hope some of your favourites are here, and we think there
will be more added per day.

--------------- 5:37 A.M. Orig. Post ---------------------

40(*) Open Trails on South and North Sectors of Tremblant.

Today's Official Snow Report states that the reduction in Open Trails
is due to the Grooming Strategy used after yesterday's rain.

The primary areas affected are Lower Mountain. Expo and Flying Mile
are off-line. Lowell Thomas is off-line as well, so North Side access
is served by the Duncan Quad for today.

Summit sectors are not affected the same way as they received Snow
over Sunday night, so there should be some very fine Winter-like
conditions that exploration will discover and with the steady below freezing
up top for the second morning, there should be good speed in those zones too.

It's No Secret... We love the Tremblant.ca Web Cams!

We look at them every day, without fail. From early morning, before
anyone's allowed on the Mountain, 'til way after "Last Run" as the sun
sets... there is so much any Tremblant Fan can see from anywhere
in the world!

Here is a 3 Pic. Web Cam array that basically spans 12 hours between each,
from yesterday morning 'til now.

If you're sitting in London England, Hong Kong, Sunny Los Angeles California,
or St. Jovite Quebec, you can see the very same thing. Even if you can't
hop in the car and drive to the Mountain in a few minutes to Ski or Board,
you know Tremblant is good to go... from there, you'll have to "Visualize"...
or.... hop on the first plane and come back....

Typically, the reduced Open Trail count after any rain incident, particularly
if it's a lower Mountain situation, is a temporary scenario. Considering
that the whole Mountain has been Sub-Zero since around 5:00 P.M. last
evening, the work done overnight by Grooming Crews should show a very
beneficial improvement on all the terrain they've covered, and the Open
Trail count should rebound accordingly.

Safety and Conditions Caveat:
Of course, with temperatures spanning above and below the freezing mark,
and now completely sub-zero, there are going to be icy sectors that will
be encountered on any Summit to base descent. Caution on initial explorations
is critical to determine safe passage, prior to any performance or increased
speed being applied. You may not assume conditions will be predictable around
the next corner or over the next crest.

Sharp, recently tuned edges will not only maximize grip and control factors,
but enjoyment as well.

The benefits of tuned edges are two-fold, not only optimum grip and control
inputs, but less pressure is required to execute those control inputs.

Consequently, there's less chance for unpredictable loss of traction that
always increases potentially when more pressure and angulation are the
natural response used to compensate for dull edges.

This is the Last Full Week of the season you can turn your
Visions of Tremblant into reality...

Go if you can...
Yup... it's a winter-like snowy day today...

Mother Nature has presented Tremblant Fans with
an outstanding and unique abundance of late season
snow that is still present in the very high quality, total
accumulated seasonal base of this date.

Participation in the remaining days will be rewarded with
conditions that are far above the statistical averages for
this time and therefore, are worth every effort for the
dedicated Tremblant Winter Alpine Snow Sports fan to
get out to enjoy.

The backbone of the Tremblant Winter Alpine Experience
has always been the very finest conditions that Mountain
Crews can make possible with their equipment and the gifts
of Mother Nature. Within that tradition, started in 1938, this
season will certainly rank near the top, by any standards of
comparison.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

T360 Apres Ski ... Early Edition...

Skiers and Boarders have left for the day....

The lifts are all quiet....

In the distance, you can hear the far off rumble of the Grooming Crews
as they start the Night Shift....

You drive back to St.Jovite to look up the Preliminary Snow Report for tomorrow's
Open trail estimate...

A quick peek at the Summit Web Cam, just to make sure everything still looks good...
