If you said "Yes"... you are correct.

We hope to have more on that later, but now we need to look at this
Heavy Snowfall Warning info. :

Obviously, for those traveling by road to be here tomorrow...
allow substantial extra transit time.

Plow's will be out, heavy snow always causes some drivers to
slow way down, some drivers take unnecessary risks with unsafe
passing, people underestimate the safe braking distance at the same
time they overestimate their driving skills... watch out!

Technically speaking, with the wind being forecast at slow speeds between
5 and 10 KMPH and from the East, We are predicting the possibility of the
Winter Snow Seasons first Orographic Snowfall at Tremblant under the
most beneficial conditions possible. A low wind speed means that falling
snow will not be blown off into the bush on the bigger, wider runs, and that
the Snow Storm's potential for yielding maximum snow accumulation on
all sides of the Summit with a slight bias toward the Beauvallon side of the
South, should not be unduly rushed or blown away entirely, as it might be with
a higher wind speed.

The warm, moist air coming all the way from Texas should ramp up into
the cooler air masses over Tremblant and we could very well get a significant
Orographic dump that would be quite a bit over the stat's predicted for Base
level accumulations.

The light wind also suggests that there may be some moderately interesting
Drifting features where the wind can deposit even more snow due to swirl
concentrations around physical ground features like leeward trail sides or
below the crests of the Mountains naturally rolling descents.

It should be noted that "We" and "They", could all be wrong.

All of Humanity knows "Weather Forecasting" is not a perfect Science.

Mother Nature may have unexpected things to say, without prior notice
and this whole episode could be different than anticipated... 'er, ..."Forecast".

Of Course... We're hoping for lot's, in which case...

Crews will likely try to have some groomed, but that could depend on
the amount of snow received. If there's a lot, conditions will favour
experts and confident intermediates.

Everyone needs to go slowly and in complete control, especially around
inexperienced new Skiers/Boarders.

That sums up what we're all expecting, but the Skiers and Boarders
that read any of this will be particularly excited as tomorrow holds
very good promise of being an excellent powder day.

Who knows, they may even be able to open some more runs
with all that snow!

Regardless, what is open, will be Super Snowy Supreme!

Below: Left: Lowell Thomas, Right, Rope Tow.
Crews have milled these runs flat and left them with the course
pattern of the cleats of their Tracks. The natural snow fall should bond
very well with this rough surface as it begins to fill up and over.
Basically, the new snow is going to have a lot to grip to.

We hope to be able to post some more Apres Ski below, between
10:30-->>11:00 P.M.

Got shovels?

-------- 10:00 A.M. update -------------

MAJOR SNOWFALL WARNING FROM ENVIRONMENT CANADA.

The first major Snowstorm to hit the East Coast is scheduled
to pass Tremblant on Wed. Morning.

Detail to Follow. Plan Accordingly.

--------------------------------------------

8(*) Open Trails at Tremblant as "Alpine"(trail# 7), running
parallel to Beauvallon Haut(upper) has been added to the list.

If you are one of the few privileged individuals that can be at Tremblant
today, you will think you have the place pretty much to yourself and the
other members of your "Today" private club.

Our Suggestion... Make it a lapping day Boot Camp!

Burn Off Some Of Them Summer Beer Calories!

Same 3 basic descents with "Alpine"(trail # 7) added to the mix.

There's a good chance Alpine will have less hard-pack than the adjacent
portion of Beauvallon because it has not had the traffic and it has an
ever-so-slightly sheltered descent line with a more even pitch than
Beauvallon. That should make for some super-carve traction levels
there for at least a couple of days.

Lower Alpine looks like it's under construction too. Park features
are likely to be in this area soon.

We've had some battery malfunctions in the past day or so and hopefully
have that sorted out for better pic. results today. But... the bottom line is
that even with the limited views we can show you now, conditions on the
chosen few are very fine and you can get a TON of vertical and an absolute
total body workout as good as any other winter day, right now.

We're not sure how quickly it will come, but it is on the way!

We ran this one above last night in Apres Ski, but we think it's
sort of neat in an artistic way, so here it is again to show the
fill-in on Rope Tow.

Todays weather: Light breezes and temps just a wee bit below freezing,
so super easy.

Page under all day construction, but there's a fresh dusting of Powder
that's going to make for some sweet, swift surfaces!

See you Apres Ski...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
