12/4/13 Tremblant Conditions
Posted: Wed Dec 04, 2013 6:17 am
T360 Apres Ski Intro. @ 9:51 P.M.
If you live anywhere East of Denver Colorado, U.S.A.,
North of Atlanta Georgia, U.S.A., or East of Winnipeg
Manitoba, Canada, South of Hudson's Bay, Canada, Below
the Arctic Circle, then you know there's Big, Wet Weather
rolling over the Eastern Portion of the North American
Continent.
It's going to quickly brush past Tremblant tomorrow, that's
Thursday, and we think it will be short, not very dramatic
and that we'll see minimal negative impact.
We get asked "How do you think it'll affect conditions?"...
Short answer... not much...
We're putting up an explanatory graphic below in "Reply".
--------------- 6:17 A.M. Orig. Post -----------------
26(*) Open Trails on the supposed to be sunny slopes at Tremblant!
------------- 8:20 A.M. update -------------
It's a Mother Nature, Limited Time Only,
One Day Sale On...
Close To Perfect!!!(**)
Sunny it is!
(**) Conditions on the Open Terrain today will be as close to perfect
as we've seen this season. The combination of yesterdays 10 CM of fresh
snow, a nice crisp sub-zero over-night and fresh Grooming will put
todays Trail selection over the top in performance quality.
Always reassuring to see these Web Cam Views before heading
off to the Mountain. They set the tone for your day on the slopes
before you get there!
We really like this one too...
Easy Winter Temp., and definite Crisp Super Traction Surfaces!

Looks Like This Coming Up!
Sunny today, at least to begin with, but Freezing Rain warning for tomorrow???
It's possible, but as any long term reader here may already have
guessed...
At the forecasted close to zero temps, and with the cooler elevation differential...
there's a possibility that it could be Snow on the Mountain....
.... but things at base level could get messy for a day.
Another "Colorado Low" is making its way across the Plains of the
Mid-West, upward diagonally past Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Southern
Ontario and into Western Quebec. The temps are forecast to spike at
Tremblant at somewhere around +6 C for a few hours mid-day Thursday,
with the regional possibility of freezing rain. As we said above, we think
we might even see some snow out of it here. One reason we think
that way is because the temps have been trending lower than forecast
over the past 2 days and being so close to freezing, even a small
downward move could change what we get significantly. When
combined with the elevation differential of 3 to 5 degrees C cooler
as you rise up the Mountain, we feel the odds of Snow are improved.
Regardless, we don't think it will greatly impact the coverage,
if at all, although it may cause some temporary reduction in Open
Trail numbers for preservation.
In the Mean-time, we're forecasting today is going to be an outstanding
opportunity to enjoy some really fabulous Skiing and Boarding.
No line-ups, vast expanses of fresh Corduroy... easy temps,
how could it be anything else but excellent for such an early
date in the new season.
Below:
One.Pic.Afternoon.Forecast.Sample.
After 10Cm of fresh snow, the softness of the first morning after's
Corduroy turns into this beautifully smooth, soft, shred-able surface
filled with the tracks of the day. Exquisite late afternoon cruising on
satin soft snow.
