Apres Ski Intro. Edit @ 7:45 P.M.
Any Friday The 13th that has these Signs of Great Skiing....
Is a Lucky Day...
Cold, Fast and Fabulous, then some more Cold,
which you sort-of forgot all about, because the
Skiing was HOT!
"Hot" ... As in Fast,
"Hot" ... As in Way, Way, High Performance.
Kandahar, shown here below was very high traction
when we were on it mid afternoon.
Still some larger chunky bits on the trail sides, but with
good edges, super easy to keep speed and control
at optimum safe levels with complete confidence.
Consistent Lateral Force applied through carved turns was
rewarded by almost sideways outboard grip and high
speed stability on every sector of Tremblant.
So then, you're hangin' around the Summit, Apres Ski,
and they politely ask you to make your way down, so
you tell them you're waiting for a really good shot and they
ask "What Kind Of Lunatic Hangs Out, at Minus 27 C???
...you be the judge...
Friday The 13th, -27 C Lunatic Moonrise...
worth the wait, and the frozen body parts still thawing 4 hours later...
Pure Winter, Spectacular, Scenic, Cold, Crisp and Frightfully Fast,
Classic Tremblant, Early Season Day.
Short Apres Ski due to other chores, but expect similar for tomorrow,
and slightly warmer, but snowy overcast for Sunday. More later if possible.
Bundle up 'n go... but do bundle up.

35(*) Open Trails at Tremblant, with more on the way.
Here is the Primary Component of your Day/Weekend at Tremblant:
Last Run, Versant Nord, The North Side, Marie-Claude Asselin,
Trail # 64 at Tremblant, 12/12/13.
...And that's basically all you really need to know.
Of course, there's a ton of additional detail that will be added
herein, but one of the most important indicators of Stable, Winter,
Alpine Snow Sport Surfaces is, Snow in the Trees.
Not only does Snow in the Trees demonstrate the recent, ongoing
contribution by Mother Nature to the base and fine conditions, but
it is without doubt, one of the singular most beautiful P.O.V's you
will ever see. This particular "Snow in the Trees" P.O.V. is a critical
one too, because it is All Natural... This trail is not directly supported
by blown snowmaking. What you see is what came from the Sky.
Please Note: Pic's used from yesterday may look "Dark", but that's
the way it is when it's Snowing Rapidly from Heavy Cloud. It started out
Sunny in the morning, but to us, the Snowy scenes are a priority
when referring to Ski/Board Conditions.
The Best way to Get On Top Of It All....
Another handy bit of Information is:
Today's Weather:
It's 10 degrees C WARMER now than it was 24 hours ago.
-18 C is still cool, but it's a lot easier to prepare for, stay warm in
and take fingers out to work Camera's, not to mention that it should
go up a bit from this point on, through the day. Time will tell.
Sunny... Breezy... Snowy.... Very High Traction, Grip Levels.
Ski/Board Surfaces on Groomed will be the best of the Season today.
That's the way it goes with incremental improvements that every
additional day of Grooming over More Snow gets you.
Take this scene Below...
referring generally to the amount of Fresh New Snow...
Saute-Moutons, Summit Entrance Below Duncan Quad Add This Scene Below...
Generally referring to the Fabulous work of Tremblant Mountain Crews...
(in this specific case building Rope Tow Upper Features Yesterday)
...And You End Up With This Type Of Scene All Over Tremblant
Please Note: The Saute-Moutons Powder Shots scene two pic's above,
is to the immediate right of this scene below. In this specific case shown above, Duncan, from the Summit entrance on down,
is in arguably the best shape it ever gets because it has Tons of Fresh Snow
on it, it's Freshly and Immaculately Groomed, and It JUST OPENED, so it
Has NO WEAR on it what-so-ever.
It's Damn near Perfect from Top-To-Bottom!
Other Miscellaneous Tremblant Terrain Development News...
Rope Tow, Versant Nord, North Park.
Much in place...
Sample "A". Sample "B". Workin' on the rest.....
Sample "C". We'll get some more Rope Tow pic's off the Lowell Thomas Triple
for today's Apres Ski, but we expect that this will probably be Open
and in excellent condition for the weekend.
