Forget The Gym… And Head For Tremblant!
Our Theory About Why Skiing/Boarding Offers Superior Exercise Value:
Compared to going to a Gym and doing a bunch of reps/time on
the lines of equipment, Skiing/Boarding draw the participant
into a much higher level of involvement as a result of the
combination of speed and distance rapidly traveled, plus the
physical sensations that elicit Hormonal responses of adrenaline
and endorphin’s. While the Gym can and does build significant
muscle, including supporting or consequential hormonal responses,
for large quantity repletion cycles, many participants would acknowledge
there is an element of boredom or even drudgery, i.e., hard work
that can be perceived as difficult to stick with.
The difference with Skiing/Boarding that gets Participants involved
in both Muscle Building and greater Calorie burning per unit of time…
“Thrills”. Thrills are a derivative of the Human “Fight or Flight” response,
and “Thrills” are the element that get those Hormonal Responses which
allow the Participant to carry on an immense effort for an extended period
of time, i.e., the “Day”, that would not be typical of any Gym experience.

Continued from above...
String a bunch of “Days” together, as in a "Ski Vacation", or a “Season”,
support that with the appropriate Nutritional Foundation and you have
our Theoretical Recipe for Fitness, Strength and Weight Loss and
All-Round Healthy, Well-Being.
The Health Benefits of a consistent, vigorous exercise program are
well documented and include, but are not limited to, many specific
areas of disease prevention, chronic pain mitigation, age related
physical function maintenance, strength, endurance, brain function,
etc., etc., etc.
If you are a Regional Tremblant Fan with convenient access to the Mountain
on a regular basis, Skiing/Boarding are Valid Modes to gain Many Significant
Health Benefits derived from an Active Lifestyle that embraces Seasonal
Opportunities for Variety.
Tremblant’s various forms of Seasons Pass “Bundles” allow real,
average people to afford participation when compared to many
Gym fees over similar time spans.
For Best Results…
...Start ‘em Young!
“Hoots" and “Yelps" of Delight as these little people pass by are
ample evidence of Fun Factors that will help keep these kids
active for life!
There’s no doubt…. if you can get Kids involved at an early age not
only do they learn quickly, but they are much more inclined to have
a life-long rate of participation and the consequent healthy lifestyle
benefits.
Weather Notes:
Sunny, starting out cool at -20 C and rising to - 9C
with definite Solar Energy in any quiet Trail-Side sheltered spots.
Light to moderate Nor-West breezes coming across the Summit
from Nansen towards Duncan, but with low speeds, super easy to
deal with.
Conditions Notes:
