In The Mean-Time, At South Base Resort Levels....

Here are a Billion Reasons to consider Skiing at Tremblant Tomorrow.

Consider the Evidence...

-Tomorrow would be “Day 3” of what is usually a 3 day Post Cold-Snap
Grooming restoration process.

-There’s New, Fresh Snow Falling Tonight, under almost Calm Winds(at South Resort Base).

-Stable Overnight Temp’s, dropping during the day tomorrow, should
help dry out all Surface Layers for enhanced performance on all skill
level Terrain.

-Light, Post Holiday Traffic and minimal wear factors should contribute
to “All Day” Durability in Snow Surface Quality.

We think there’s a possibility tomorrow may hold some “Best Of Season” surfaces...

60(*) Open Trails on the Squeaky Cold 4 Sides of #Tremblant.

We seem to have repeated this Warm/Cold Cycle often recently...

Deja vu... (but at this morning’s 7:00 A.M. @ -32C, risen to -27 C by 9:00
A.M., it’s been a wee bit nippy out there...(**))

...so it’s becoming quite familiar, as it does every season, while Mother Nature
decides to get comfortable with a steady Winter pattern.

Very, very fortunately, Tremblant Guests have the Benefit of one of the Quickest,
Most Professional, Talented, Dedicated Crews of Mountain Op’s in the entire Ski
Resort Industry. They deliver the best possible Surface results day-in and day-out,
all season long, and today will be no exception.

Also very fortunately, there is a short, milder airmass moving in now with Snow
Forecasted. That should start up at about noon today and the High Temp is
expected to get up to a Balmy -16C by Last Run!

Above: In the long Shadows of 1.5.15, Last Run on Versant Nord, the North Side,
the brightness of the sunset is obscured at the Peak by Snowmaking Cloud
as we look up Beauchemin at it’s mid-point plateau adjacent to the Lowell
Thomas Triple Chair Base Loading Zone which is out of sight, off to the Left
of this pic. In the top Left corner of this pic. you can see the upper crest of
Rigodon and to the immediate Left of the Skiers visible half way up, is the lower
intersection of La Traverse as it enters Beauchemin. The Snow Surface here is
surprisingly good although the top layer is not all that deep yet. Another night
of Grooming will add to it’s depth for this morning.

We are on Day 2 of a typical 3 Day restoration process. That process may have
been accelerated by the overnight low temps and it may also be accelerated
by additional new Snow as soon as it starts to fall in a few hours.

Either way, conditions are incrementally better and the number and square area
of the Sweet Spots within the Open Terrain is increasing rapidly.

A Quiet, Wind Sheltered, Last Run Moment On P’tit Bonheur.

We did not take many pic’s yesterday because it was impractical to deploy
the camera with bare fingers for switches/settings at the temps with the
wind velocity, so sorry for no huge variety. The important part is still
the very basic presence of Snow in the Trees on almost all of Tremblant’s
4 sided footprint that indicates the absence of any significant warm from
the last Thermal Up Cycle, and as a result, the absence of any new ice that
could have come from a more sustained heat episode.

What that means to Tremblant Guests today is that while this cold snap has
certainly firmed things up, the firm base is not as icy as it might have been,
and the surface rejuvenation efforts of Mountain Crews are going very well.

((**) It’s actually Nippy Cold all the way to Florida as the Arctic Air Mass that
is responsible for this has taken a huge dip South over all of Eastern North
America.)

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
