96(*) Open Trails On The Cool Winter Re-Boot Over the Snow White Slopes of #Tremblant .

Here Is An Executive Summary Of Where Tremblant Is Today:

For Almost A Month, The Daytime Temp’s At Mountain Elevations
Have Been Near Zero C, And Primarily Just Below, Within A Range
Of Roughly -4C.

In That Same Month, There Has Been Officially 93cm’s Of Fresh Snowfall.

Virtually All The New Snowfall Has Been Kept/Maintained By Both
Cooler Mountain Elevation Temp’s, As Well As The Daily Grooming.

It’s Been An Extended Period Of Very, Very Easy Winter.
We Do Not Think We’ve Ever Seen A Similar Long Series Of Days,
So Close To, But Just Below, Zero C/32F., Combined With
Near Miraculous Snow Retention.

Here’s a One-Pic Conditions Weather View Sample for today...

Today see’s the first drop back to more winter-like Coolness
with the correspondingly low Overnights, and we don’t think
the timing could be better for Trail Surface Quality or Durability.

March can have many, many Wild Cards and the ones we don’t
like are the usual “Thermal Events” associated with the advance
of “Spring” as the Northern Hemisphere gets longer and longer
days of more direct and definitely warmer Sunshine because of
the effects of the “Warmer” part on Snow Surfaces.

So... That’s why we’re super-thankful. Having a “Cool” Swing
in the temps right now is a way better thing if you’re a serious
Skier/Boarder for the singular reason that “Cool” is Mother
Natures basic “Permission” for Snow and the sustained Alpine
Snow Sports Trail Network.

Weather Notes:

As far as today is concerned, it’s going to be the wind that
you’ll need to bundle up for. The Nor-West direction with
gusts over 30km’s will be moving very quickly over the
Summit from Beauvallon towards Lowell Thomas. For optimized
comfort, you will want to eliminate any gaps. If you can imagine
combined facing ambient wind speed with descent speed, you could
easily see a net air-speed of over 50 kmph while moving.

It’s still too early to tell conclusively for sure, but we’re very
pleased to see a lower temp value forecast for next week
around the 24th. If you scroll back to yesterday(“Previous Topic”
button, tool bar above, page right side), you’ll see it was
up at +6C, so very good if that lower trend actually occurs. It’s
often all these little co-factor trends that make up strings of
carried forward Great Ski Days. Regardless, any way it happens,
this is a great planning forecast and we hope all regional Tremblant
Fans are getting their Ducks In A Row for some really excellent
near-term potential.

Conditions Notes:

We’re hoping the Cool Winds may “Cook” out some
surface humidity, and if that happens, things could be
very fast. All the recent snow has had more than one
Grooming cycle, so there should be very good density,
however it is possible there may be some icy bits, particularly
on Crests or Steeper Pitches where cool facing winds may be
able to work with some focus within unique Aero-Channels of
sustained high speed flow.

Explore cautiously and do not blast over blind crests. It’s
definitely “Line-of-Sight” Navigational rules.

Page under progressive assembly.

Our Apologies for very late posting.
We are on an Official Bereavement Leave
for today and the next 3 days and the
logistics of Site maintenance during this
time of travel and Family Support may
cause delays. The Skiing and Boarding
are exceptionally fine and it may be moments
like these that can make us more keenly
appreciative, and so very thankful for the
privileges of good health that enable us to
enjoy the magnificent beauty of Tremblant’s
Outstanding Alpine Domain.
