More Of This!

There were several periods of brief, but quite intense Snowfall
yesterday. They were not enough to contribute to the total, but
just another Winter Sign in April that’s a very reassuring co-factor
in the ongoing stability of Ski Conditions.

Weather Notes:

A Texas Low is currently headed diagonally from the Gulf of Mexico,
across the Central Plains of the USA, and on upwards to cross from
Sou-West to Nor-East across the Great lakes and that’s the source
of the Weather Warning attached to this post. Many of the dimensions
in both covered area and precipitation effect are not completely or
accurately predictable. We just hope we’re enough Latitude North to
have it all come as Snow the way it’s forecast, in which case, we will
have a definite “Game Changer” Blizzard(?) or at least Snow Storm to
add to the Base for one of the most Winter-Like seasonal wrap-ups
we can ever remember. Plan Accordingly if you can make it back to Tremblant!

In the mean-time, today should be very fine with some later day softening
as temps and sun work together and the temp’s get up to +5 C.
No doubt, a true Spring Skiing day with a firm start and a soft end.
One of the things we like best about todays forecast is the very low
wind component that not only adds comfort, but it helps save
the surfaces from “Blow Dryer/Heat Gun” effects.

Re-Open Trail News:

There will be many very happy Tremblant regulars to see
Erik Guay Re-Opoened today. These two pic’s below are from
yesterday and even though it was closed for the day, you can
see the Snow Coverage and Un-Groomed Moguls are perfectly
in place, so today should have it in great shape for those who
appreciate it as a Bump Zone.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

“3 Parts “Winter”, and 2 Parts “Spring” is not a specific reference point,
but rather a Ratio of the Subjective Ambient Presence Of Qualities Associated
with either Winter or Spring. It “Feels” more like winter over the Summit and
Mountain elevations. One of the best examples of “Winter” is the Snow quality
shown below. This is a relatively dry, Snow Crystal that is present at the Summit
and on all but the very bottom of the North for about the last 20 Metres of vertical,
and on the South, to just about the top of Johannsen.

The HUGE Wild Card is the Weather associated with the Environment Canada
Weather Warning included in today’s original post that calls for up to 20cm’s
of Snowfall.

Here is an Update on that using the Revised Hourly Forecast.
