We want to show you the snow... first...

The snow pictured above is a very fine, as in small, very dry
crystalline snow particle. It holds an edge very well and in
most places will support the entire weight of the Skier on
the single outside ski in the carved turn. It is over a very firm
substrate and it wants tuned gear, but in return, pays you back
with amazing responsiveness.

Both These Pics Above and Below are on Beauvallon Bas, Lower
as it runs parallel to Biere-en-bas.

When you ski it with Full-Tilt Slalom Mode, it looks like
this below, afterward.

Below:
Here is a good sample of the lateral turning force you can
apply to pressure the outside ski.

What you will notice is that there is very little snow being thrown sideways.
The ski is obviously arched, however the surface is very capable of retaining
all that energy, so the ski passes forward with very little turbulence and with
optimal efficiency.

There is excellence in all groomed Skill Level terrain.

The snow on Nansen is a “Green” dream, river of satin-like
smoothness with not a single snowflake out of place.

Tomorrows Weather... -5C under the “Sun”, with a
very light Sud, South wind coming up the Mountain
over Soleil. Very,Very Easy, Early Winter, Mega-Shred Conditions!

This is a specific “Heads Up” to encourage you to
run away from home to Ski or Board Tremblant Now.
Regional Tremblant Fans... It’s your loss if you miss it.

The Summary Is:
These are excellent early season conditions and despite
up/down adjustments in start-up trail counts, what is open
is in very fine condition and will turn your Quad muscles
into “Jello” by the end of a day, if you want.

If you want to cruise, you could probably rack up well over
20,000 Vertical Feet Per Day in “GS” Mode.

The Bottom Line Is:
If you can get to Tremblant, you might be considered
by your Ski-Buddy Peers as being “Nuts”, if you don't.

Simply put...

Yesterday we enjoyed some of the “Best Of Season”
(so far), Smooth, Groomed, Carving Conditions,
and Tremblant was a joy to be on. Period.

Today Could Be Better...

Due to:
-More Natural Snowfall
-An Additional Night-Shift of Grooming
-Stable 24hr Sub-Zero C(32F) Temps

The return to stable Sub-Zero C temps on a 24hr basis is
a huge positive influence as it allows the 2 nights worth
of fresh, new, snowfall to be integrated into the base
without any thermal stress, so it remains dry, and 100% snow.

Where groomed, this produces ideal compaction that has
proven performance characteristics as we had yesterday,
so with the last nights new snow, there’s every good reason
to think today could be a notch upward in the refinement
of existing quality and the expansion of the scope of that quality.

The Improvements Start At The Top.

Many areas of existing Open Terrain are getting refinements
that are reducing hazards and improving width and depth
consistency. A great example of that yesterday was the much
easier descent pathway of Lowell Thomas, Bas, Lower, pictured
below.

For Near-Term Tremblant Visit Planing, i.e.:

This Specific Week: The week before the 24Hour Children’s Charity
Marathon Fundraiser, typically sees a huge effort by Mountain Crews
to get as much terrain open as possible. History shows that trail
numbers take a jump upward, especially on the Nord, North Side
to compensate for the public closure of the Event Course.

For Next Week... Those who may be interested in a Tremblant visit
next week get all the benefits of this massive Terrain expansion
and quality effort once the Charity Event is over. Crews often start
taking down the barriers right after the event ends at 12:00 Noon
on Sunday, and for sure, by Monday morning the Skiing/Boarding
public usually have complete access to the entire, expanded
Alpine Trail network in the finest shape of pre-Xmas conditions
possible.

As A General Note To All Future Tremblant Visit Planners
Who Have Discretionary December Time Availability:

We consider the week after the Kids Charity Event to be one of
the very best Value Weeks in the season. “Low Season” accommodation
prices and very light Mid-December Mountain traffic mean that you
can economically do endless laps on very highly prepared trail surfaces
without crowds or lines. There will be days next week when you may
feel as if you have Tremblant all to yourself, and... and usually, with
exquisite, top-to-bottom conditions because of the massive efforts
to expand and refine the open terrain for the Charity Event.

Conditions Notes:

This is the time of year where both conditions and Open trails
can be very “dynamic”, subject to change, within any given
day. Trails can go from closed to open, or open to closed,
usually for safety reasons. We recommend that for maximum
Mountain utility you check with Tremblant’s Info.Ski crews
during the day if you have any questions or concerns.

Early December conditions include base strata that have
been exposed to the typical Fall temperature swings above
and below Zero C(32F), and do not yet have the fullness
of mid-season depths, so they can have natural hazards
and firm or icy bits within a normal range of occurrence.
We are very fortunate to have fewer of those situations
due to abundant early snow, however particularly as new
terrain opens, you may find them from time-to-time, so
we recommend that initial explorations be undertaken with
cautious speed that will allow instant steering and/or stopping
capability, before you go ripping around.

For Best Results: Bring Tuned Gear To The Mountain If Possible.

The vast majority of open, groomed terrain is at exceptional
levels of quality for this time of year, however it is wise to watch
for, and be prepared for some very normal roughness around
the edges of the newest opened trails, particularly if they are
un-groomed.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
