76(*)Open Trails on Sud/South, Nord/North, Soleil and Edge Sectors at #Tremblant .
-------------- 10:17 A.M. Traffic.Conditions.Observations. Update ------------
We like to keep an eye on the Web Cams during the morning
publishing cycle and one of the best Summit POV’s is the span
across the top of La Crete/Beauchemin Haut, Upper, over to
where you can see the peak of the Edge Sector. We thought
you might find it interesting to see the reverse POV from that
far Edge Sector Peak, back to the Summit.

------------------------------------------
Below is the most recent file shot we have from 12.21.19 of that
opposite POV from the Edge Sector Peak, back over to the Summit.
If you get out your magnifying glass, or zoom-in, you will see
a tan/brown section of the Summit buildings, immediately
adjacent to the TGV Quad Lift(that is seen rising to the Summit
from the right side of the pic.), where you see the corner of
that building closest to La Crete(Trail #2), you may be able
to detect a tiny white speck/dot on the wall at that corner. That dot
is the Summit Web Cam. From the full left side of the frame
below, follow the dot line over to the exclamation mark, the
white spec/dot is below the exclamation mark, and just below
the white, snow covered building roof-line .
The Edge Sector offers some of the biggest natural snowfall
accumulations within the boundaries of Tremblant’s domain
as it lies within the “Lee-Side” of the main Summit for the
prevailing winter winds. What you can also see in the pic.
above are the similarly beneficial snowfall accumulations
in the upper Versant Nord/North Side Lowell Thomas Sector.
The entire portion above and to the left of what you see as
the main wide trail, # 71, Beauchemin, is typically back-filled
by Mother Nature and the many smaller, tree-lined trails you
can’t see here, get filled in to depths significantly above the
statistical totals. Look at the next week in the 14 long range
forecast below and then look above again for insight into where
a lot of that could go.
Otherwise(a)...
There will be excellence within the array of Open Terrain today,
however there will be challenge too, so it may take some care
and patience to find the best conditions for individual skills and abilities.
“Seek And Find” is an expression used as the name of a Children’s treasure
hunt game. “Hide and Seek” is an expression used as the name of a Children’s
game of finding hidden people. When the weather has temp ranges across
the freezing mark, both these quoted name/game terms could also apply
to the careful explorations you might undertake at any Ski Resort for Open
Terrain matched to your skills and gear.
Basically... It is only day-7 of the brand new Official Winter Season
and as such, there can be totally normal early season temp. swings
that generate challenge in the mix of surface conditions.

RE: 12/29 and 12/30 -- You need to watch out for this one
if you are planning a highway trip of any kind Sunday Eve.,
to Monday.
Conditions Notes:
The vast majority of Open, Groomed Trail Surfaces should
have good, to very good utility, especially on Green and Blue
slopes with less pitch angle. With this weather, there is a
favourable bias for Versant Sud/South Side conditions today
as they may see a combination of Temp and Solar that may
induce softness into the top layers. If that happens, it will
be most noticeable at lower elevations, but if the Sun stays out,
will work up as the afternoon matures under direct facing Sun rays.
Otherwise(b)...
The Laws Of Physics Apply.
Due to the proximity of recent/current ambient temp
ranges across Zero C/32 F., there may be icy bits within
the base strata. These areas should be in recognizable
patterns where there are topographical crests and/or
steeper pitches, and/or where there are naturally
occurring traffic concentrations around trail intersections
for examples.
If you have tuned gear with fresh or recent sharp edges,
you will “LOL” at these icy bits, and... you may not even
notice them, or they will seem far fewer and smaller.
If you do not have tuned gear, you will perceive a
higher frequency of slick or icy bits. If you think it’s
“Icy”, it’s more than likely you need your edges/bases tuned.

With Christmas and New Year’s in the middle
of their respective weeks, there are many
Holiday Travellers going Back/Forth by Highway
throughout this time period.
We are urging you exercise great care and strategic
planning to avoid potential hazardous driving conditions.
If possible, take or allow an extra day to ensure safe
and easy transit when faced with poor driving forecasts.
