We Would Like To Introduce You To Some Of Your Best Friends
On The Mountain Today:

Below:
This is a “Goto” Snowy File shot of members of the Tremblant
Info.Ski team. We are showing them to you in a snow storm
like we have today so you can learn to recognize them at the
Summit in these conditions. That’s the new Lowell Thomas
high speed detachable quad lift in the background.

Their total purpose is to assist YOU in the complete
optimization of your day at Tremblant. Period. This is especially
helpful during or after complex weather factors effect any aspect
of Ski/Board Mountain utility.

You may be here at Tremblant on your first day, ever, or...
You may be here at Tremblant on your 1,347th day....
The Value Of Premier Mountain Intel Is Exactly The Same
For All Levels Of Tremblant Experience. Period.

...we consult with them virtually every single day on the Mountain.

With their help...

It Should Be A Very Good and...
A Very “Interesting” Day...

After yesterday’s wicked wind wild weather drama that
made for the extremely rare closure of Versant Sud/South
and Soleil sectors, things are already “Back On Track”.

We consider the removal and reinstallation of the Versant
Sud/South Gondola Cars as a significant sign of both
weather stress and proactive service restoration. No doubt
it means extra work for Mountain Op’s Crews, but the
benefits in terms of a glitch-free Opening this morning
are worth it and if today is your first arrival day, it will
seem as though nothing at all unusual happened, despite
yesterday’s whacky weather.

However, the results of such a huge natural force may be
some significant variation in conditions between the zones
that were fully frontally facing and the zones that were
in a lee-side sheltered position. Consequently, cautious
explorations are required on all first descents to confirm
safe passage.

Weather Notes:

The biggest difference for today is unquestionably the wind velocity.
It is still indicated at a basic Easterly to Sou-East direction, so that
means it will be coming up the Mountain from the P’tit Bonheur/Lowell T.
sectors initially, with a slight mid-day shift towards Duncan and
then crossing over the Summit towards McCulloch and Erik Guay.
Riding up the Duncan and Lowell T. quads should have the wind
at your back and with these mild temps and more snowfall it
should actually be a very pleasant and easy winter day.

Conditions Notes:

There will be a fair degree of complexity in the conditions
today due to the unique effects of wind over the Mountains
overall conical shape, as well as differences over and around
individual topographical contours and trail orientations that
could have very different characteristics even though they may
be in close proximity. Only one example of those differences may be
between Duncan Haut, Upper(Trail # 59), that was a wind facing,
wide open space and the immediately adjacent trails of Marie-Claude
Asselin(# 64) and Banzai(#65), where the tall tree-lined sides of the
narrower trails(64/65), typically act as scoops that harvest and shelter
retained snowfall even in windy conditions. There are dozens of others
and part of the fun today will be exploring to find the sweet spots that
compliment your skills and abilities.

Conditions Caveat:

It is critically important for Beginners and Intermediates to
remain in appropriately rated Green and Blue terrain on all
initial descents. There may be icy bits where wide open trail
spaces that were directly wind facing could not keep snow
on steeper pitches or over crests. Look for patterns and
use your head to remain safe at all times. If you are a
legitimate Expert within a group, be totally responsible
about directing non-Experts to safe terrain and insist they
remain there.

Traffic may play a part in evolving conditions during the day
and with an Official 10cm’s of fresh snow, there could be enough
accumulations in places to generate moguls as the day progresses.

Use common sense and maintain absolute VFR/Line-of-sight
speed and navigational control at all times. Watch out for
“Weekend/Holiday Warriors” who may be over-enthusiastic
and not always able to keep total control... Scan, scan, scan...
keep the “Eyes in the back of your head” tuned to all those
around you.

Page Under Construction that will likely see frequent
edits throughout the day. This is what we would call
a very “Dynamic” situation that could involve developing
changes in conditions and open trail status. If you are on
the Mountain today, consult with Info.Ski Crews, often.
They will have the very best “Radio-Controlled” conditions
and Openings Intel. If you are arriving anytime soon, check
with Tremblant.ca or come back here. Thanks for your visit
and your patience.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
