Happy New Year!

Happy New Decade!

It maybe a New Year, and a New Decade, but...
It’s still the same great Skiing and Snowboarding at Tremblant!

O.K., so it’s been rather “Grey” outside for the recent past,
and a bit on the “Breezy” side too, but considering the Officially
recorded 17cm’s of new snow over the last 36 some-odd hours,
we’ll take “Grey” any day for all the benefits of the increase in
base depth.

Weather Notes:

Close to Zero C for sure, at Sud/South Resort Base Levels,
but up on the typically cooler by -4C Mountain elevations,
things should remain just nicely below Zero C for the entire day...
we hope.

As far as the forecast is concerned, based on the following
annotated data, we are cautiously optimistic that with all
the factors contained and referred to below, there’s a really
good possibility the precipitation models could tip towards
an All-Snow actual outcome.

Stay Tuned... Mother Nature will advise...

Conditions Notes:

With an Officially recorded 17cm’s of fresh new snowfall,
the overall trend in base condition will be elevated, particularly
in the Groomed Open Trail array, but due to the velocity of
the wind associated with it’s initial arrival, there may be select
zones of beneficial accumulation in the Sous Bois/Hors Piste
Un-Groomed.

17cm’s over this short time frame is enough that there
may be lingering softness in some Groomed terrain that
could result in the build-up of Moguls where traffic
concentrations, particularly over steeper crests and pitches,
can occur. As the day matures, look for evolving surface
patterns in order to choose terrain appropriate for actual
Skills and default to lesser challenge ratings in advance
if you want to keep it easy.

Please Note: Holidays, i.e., the actual “Holiday” of New Years Day,
similar to “Christmas Day”, is often the very first day out for many
average recreational Skiers/Boarders. Consequently, it may be a
busy day on the Mountain and... there may be a lot of Beginners or
folks who are not yet physically “Dialled In”, so please allow extra
maneuvering space around others who may be prone to sudden
or unpredictable changes in direction or speed with zero notice.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
