34(*) Open Trails on Sud/South, Nord/North and Soleil Sectors at #Tremblant .
Early Bird Eye Opener.
A Very Reassuring Sight.
Welcome Back To Winter.
Weather Notes:
What we are experiencing here is a very normal oscillation of late-fall
into early-winter weather patterns that should stabilize as the next
few weeks progress. What is unusual is that this most recent cycle
has had a North/South 3,000 Kilometre linear reach so far south
as Florida.
Looking at past cycles, as well as future forecasts, what we see
here overall is slightly higher than normal seasonal temps with
occasional downward splashes of Polar Vortex. If you acknowledge
that when graphically rendered, temps have charted peaks and
valleys, we are anecdotally observing higher peaks and lower
valleys than we think would be usual, and the mid-line is a bit
on the warmer side.
Our end of this system has passed off to the East, however
the effects are still to the South, so we are adding this file
for the final time as a regional/continental context reference.
Conditions Notes:
You will absolutely need good edges today after a temp. drop
from +8 C and rain yesterday, down to -9 C today, regardless
of the overnight snowfall. This is due to wind-shaped snow
accumulations that will not be the same in all areas. Frontal
wind-facing areas may exhibit variable degrees of icy bits
or zones where snowfall could not accumulate across wide
open expanses. Grooming will have mitigated much of the
solid firmness out of all covered areas, however, traffic
and steepness will effect the evolving surface conditions
over the span of open hours.
On the flip-side, where there were wind-sheltered zones,
snowfall accumulations may generate some extraordinary
high quality performance with abundant natural snow over
the solid base.
Mountain topographical contours may present patterns that
are recognizable for either.
Use caution with speed on all initial explorations and be aware
of patterns that may be predictable so you can proactively
optimize safety and performance.
Mountain Crews always prioritize Green rated terrain for
the benefit of Beginners and Intermediates who need the
most support. Default down in challenge selection until
you can verify safe descent.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
