Here’s The Reason There Are 102/102 Open Trails For Today.
4.1.22.Nord.North.Expo.Bas.Lower.Course.At.Duncan.Quad.Base.c.jpg
One year ago today, we had 353 cm’s and 55 Open Trails.
Today we have 540 cm’s and 102 Open Trails.
By that comparative measure alone, very close to 2 metres more
of ambient snowpack, we think all regional Tremblant Fans
who can make it out should be encouraged in every possible
way to toss gear into any handy vehicle and head out A.S.A.P.

Weather Notes:
Conditions Notes:
Absolutely fantastic for any April 2 in history.
Absolutely fantastic for any open day in all history.
We have had other past seasons with this way above average
snowfall accumulations running into April, but it certainly does
not happen every year so it should be appreciated and enjoyed
as the wonderful opportunity it is to experience full winter coverage
excellence as we move into the final 2 weeks of the Official season.
There is a very likely firmness to be initially expected due
to the well below zero C overnight lows at elevations following
yesterdays warmth that briefly touched +1 C at the Summit
for a little over an hour. There was never anything other than
snow in precipitation though, but it was quite thick and very
high humidity snow, so that will have solidified. Of course as
the sun and rising air temps get to work between 10:00 A.M. and
noon, you can expect a rapid softening, starting on the Sud/South
and Soleil Sectors, and ultimately reaching to all 4 corners by the
time of the most intense solar energy of mid afternoon.
We have been asked about 100 times what kind of traffic to expect,
i.e., is it going to be a crazy-busy weekend Saturday, but in truth,
we have no idea. It certainly should be a good attendance by virtue
of the superb technical merit of full Mountain winter wall-to-wall
coverage, abundant fresh snowfall in the last 24 hours, plus a super
sunny excellent Spring weather day, but there are a lot of green lawns
back in “Theirville”, and we have all seen occasions where at some
point, folks mentally shift gears towards spring home chores and yard
work as the skis begin to collect dust in the basement corner.
That would be a giant mistake. Missing any open spring skiing day
with these conditions would be criminal, and with the Mountain open
hours extended to 5:00 P.M. today, there should be all the time you
need to blast your quad muscles to total fun-fatigue. We think you’ll
run out of muscle way before you run out of time, and we can tell you
for a fact that you will run out of muscle way before you run out of
Tremblant.
