Advance Sector Snowmaking News...
First Time Snowmaking Icons On Versant Soleil!
@ Trail # 40, Franc Sud.
If, if, if... Maybe, possibly, might be... if you see snowmaking
icons on either Algonquin or Toboggan within the next 48 hours,
maybe, just maybe... Soleil Sector by Dec. 14 ??? We Could Be Wrong.
In terms of a commitment to any linear snowmaking projects
here at Tremblant, the Soleil sector opening may only be
exceeded by the entire 6 Km’s of full Nansen, so opening
Soleil is a very big deal in any new early season sequence.
What we do not know is how much benefit to this sector
was had from the variable wind directions during the big snow
storm 2 days ago, so this could be a sign that there was
a healthy enough natural accumulation over there that it
makes sense to build on that with blown snow augmentation
now.
Weather Notes:
KKkkoolest Day Of The New Season... so far.
What we need to remind readers is that despite
the "dress for it" challenges of these temps, with
the very late warmth of early to mid November
that caused the delay in seasons open by one
week, these temps are essential in order to
establish a significant drop in the core temp
of the mass of the Mountain that stabilizes both
the length and the durable quality of the season.
Basically, the Mountain becomes a giant refrigerant
storage unit, but only when there’s a sufficient cold
injection from days and nights like these, so we’re
compelled to look at the clinical benefits while we
freeze our butt’s off shivering with them.
Conditions Notes:
Early season excellence in all skill levels of
freshly groomed trails as the big snow of
the past 72 hours has had multiple grooming
passes that should be quite close to ideal
compaction for all-day firmness and mogul
resistant smoothness.
The challenge will be the appropriate garment
layers to maintain warmth with descent speed
wind chill effects.
Otherwise... The first day of Versant Sud/South Side Nansen
is always a special day. Nansen is perhaps the oldest 1939
trail at Tremblant that still uses its mostly original descent
path, plus... it is some of the very finest, gentle, predictable,
consistent learning terrain on Planet Earth, so for Beginners,
you now have a very wide range of choice and easy alternative
when also consider P’tit Bonheur as a compliment to any initial
steps to learn skiing or snowboarding.
For 85 years, thousands and thousands of never-ever, first time
skiing Beginners have had their introduction to the sport on the
gentle slopes of Nansen. A few of those have gone on to be
some of the very best World Cup Champions and Olympic Gold
Medal skiers and snowboarders in the World.
If you start on Nansen and learn at Tremblant you will be able
to ski or board well anywhere in the World.
Another benefit of these temps is the complete suitably
they represent for the very highest qualities of snowmaking.
Blown snow that gets produced in these temps is some
of the best, most natural like, light, dry, powdery snow
possible. We would expect to see very substantial and
rapid increases in the accumulation depths for all indicated
zones of snowmaking today.

the complete access infrastructure is fully in place(see lower

Archival Copy Of Official Daily Message:
Bonjour Tremblant! The mountain is absolutely breathtaking this morning, blanketed in fresh,
powdery snow! We’ve received 43 cm of new snow in the last 3 days, and it’s only getting better!
Today, once again, the summit will be accessible via the Cable Car from the South and the Duncan
from the North. From the summit to the North Base, you can enjoy the stunning views via the
Beauchemin trail. Plus, we plan on opening 2 more trails during the day.
Please take note that the alpine touring trails are closed.
The forecast is looking fantastic, and we're gearing up to open even more skiable trails and lifts
in the coming days. Several mountain areas are currently being progressively snowed in, all in
preparation for our highly anticipated 24h Tremblant event, happening from December 13th to 15th.
Get ready for an unforgettable winter adventure!
