41(*) Open Trails.

Whoooo Hooooo !!!! (a)

Soleil Sector OPENING TODAY!!!!

This is a file shot of Trail # 95, Versant Soleil, Algonquin.
It is an engineering masterpiece of magnificent, naturally
excellent, topographical flow suitable for all skill levels.
From your first days ever Beginner skiing, to your 50 years
of refined Expert nuances, Algonquin can help you realize
your front-side groomed enjoyment or learning goals.

Interstate 95 Wide And Smooth.

Algonquin was built like a highway.

The compacted surface substrates are completely
supported by engineered drainage and it could have
been either paved like I-95, or it could have been
planted like a Golf Course Fairway at Augusta, but
in any case, with immaculate, freshly groomed snow,
it is one of the most beautiful, meandering, gentle,
accommodating, easy, and long(#) Green slopes in all
of Eastern North America. Period.

Together with Nansen and P’tit Bonheur, here is the
Tremblant Trinity of learning excellence.

((#) Regarding the “long” part... Algonquin is roughly
just around 5km’s and if you have an 11 metre turning
radius, recreational SL ski, a run here doing top-to-bottom
Slalom mode descent will turn almost anyone’s quads into
jello. You won’t be going reckless speeds either, fully carved
short radius turns are not a fast net descent speed because
you are travelling almost twice the distance by continuously
going back and forth across the fall line. The aerobic output
to ski this serpentine distance in one uninterrupted run is
immense and very much an Expert endurance challenge.)

SUPER DEMO DAY !!!!

DO IT TODAY!!!!

If you are genuinely serious about being a better skier,
you will want to prioritize today, or any other Super Demo
Day, as the pinnacle of validation for any quality ski purchase
you will ever consider.

In our own case, we can tell you for a fact that any sequential
on-Mountain testing in a “A” vs. “B”, vs “C” methodology will
absolutely tell you in a wide-eye amazing way, just how Ski Brands
that on paper, by any numerical or metrics stat’s would seem to be
the same, can be so very different.

Skis that by all theoretical implications, should be nearly identical,
can actually feel like the difference between night and day. Skis that
by theoretical/metric implications, should be as similar as identical
twins, but one pair may ski light and nimble, while the other ski like
they’re as thick as a plank.

If You Don’T Try 'Em Before You Buy 'Em, You’ll Never Know.

Weather Notes:

Very chilly, and if you actually add in the wind chill, just plain old cold.

The next 48 hours or so could even qualify as a “Cold Snap”,
where there is an unusual, uncharacteristic, deep fall in the
temp’s, but for a relatively brief time span.

On the bright side, the volume and quality of the snowmaking
at these temps is extraordinary. Light and dry with a very fine
crystal that easily integrates into the groomed base without any
icy tendencies in the groomed finish whatsoever.

The Rug Rats Are Everywhere !!!

This is a file sample of the kind of performance
you can witness specifically on the Nansen Pitch
today as Race Teams from all over Eastern Canada
as well as some nearby American States are, as usual,
flocking to Tremblant for the reliability of early season
training.

Of course, providing there’s no one else around
and conditions are safe...

Anyone who tells you that you can’t train or learn
Expert level technique on Nansen is just flat out wrong.

We are seriously inspired by Racer Kidz who zip around the
Mountain with a fearless determination while demonstrating
some of the most fundamentally sound technique known.
Every single recreational skier can learn something from
race technique and it is entirely possible to learn from them
and become better by emulating components of their style
and equally as well by emulating their commitment to practice.

Father/Daughter Nansen Training:

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

More cryogenic cool, crisp, authentic winter snow
with all the performance excellence that comes with
the inherent levels of very high traction lateral grip.

Exceptional edge-set performance should be just
about the Expert equivalent of driving a Ferrari on
a race track, while Beginners should find very high
levels of forgiveness in surfaces that are easy to
execute learning moves in, and that will absorb little
mistakes without tripping you up.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades an Un-Groomed:

Unfortunately, not much to report here as there is still
only the one mogul run open on Versant Nord/North Side
Trail # 97, “LTE”, which runs parallel to Rigodon under the
Lowell Thomas Quad for the lower to base portion.

With this group having had only brief openings so far,
we can see there is a great sensitivity to natural snow
accumulations so early in the season and it could be a
while before Mother Nature comes back with a refill.
A review of the long range weather forecast shows
there could be a glimmer of hope in snowfall potential
for Monday night, maybe.

Archival Copy Of Official Daily Message:

Bonjour Tremblant! Today, we are excited to add the Soleil
Sector to our open terrain. Unfortunately, due to logistical
reasons, we won’t be able to open it at the start of the day,
so the Soleil Side and lift will have a delayed opening.
To enjoy this first tracks launch day, you'll need to head to
the base of the South or North Side.

With the return of cold temperatures, snowmaking will resume
in several areas of the mountain. We are optimistic with our plan
and hope to open several new slopes soon!

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
