Weather Notes:

Don’t panic... For today, the active weather is forecast largely
after open hours so it should not affect a great day on the
slopes, however, forecasting is not perfect so timing could
be out either way. The “Bottom” line is that you may get a
wet butt for the last half hour or so.

We also want to remind readers that the forecast is for
Sud/South Resort Base ground levels and things up over
the inherently cooler trail elevations can be far better, at
todays temps, even all snow.

Probabilities of rain increase with the rise of ambient
air temps so we see see the real threat of wet for tomorrow
but because it’s such short warm burp, and because we’re
coming off a genuine cold-snap of multi-day duration,
we actually think the chill in the hill is going to act as a
very effective membrane that could minimize damage.

It is quite likely that we may see a proactive reduction in trail
availability tomorrow for conservation but that’s such a huge
potential variable that active weather either hitting or missing
could change that by the hour.

--------------- Environment Canada Freezing Rain Warning: ---------------

Based on the hourly active weather profile within
todays forecast data, the risks here are not so much
applicable to ski conditions as they are to driving
conditions Apres Ski.

Of course, conditions could certainly be affected
tomorrow, but one way we may know if it’s a
big deal is if the Sud/South Gondola cars are
dismounted from the main lift cable Apres Ski
and stored indoors at top and bottom terminals.

Water weighs 10 Lbs per gallon, so to save both mechanical
weight stress on the system, and the time it takes to chip off
thick layers of ice off all the cars, if Crews expect significant
freezing rain accumulations, they may simply dismount the
cars for indoor shelter.

Typically, we can see that from the Web Cam at the Sud/South
Gondola/Resort Base and we record that in this journal.

Conditions Notes:

Mild, easy, excellent, for practically full open hours
until 3:00 P.M. If the active weather hits anytime
before that could change without notice, but at least
the mild part should make it less harsh.

Archival Copy Of Official Daily Message:

Bonjour Tremblant! Today, we'll have a mix of
precipitation; freezing rain changing into regular
rain. Please bring waterproof gear as staying dry
is the best way to stay warm! Please note that due
to the weather forecast, the number of open trails
may change depending on the skiing conditions.
Have a good day, we will see you at the summit!

With the return of colder weather, snowmaking
will resume in several areas of the mountain.
We are optimistic with our plan and hope to
open several new slopes soon!
