Happy New Year!
Boulevard Bliss, More Nice ’N Easy....
Early Season... It is what it is, so while we wait for
some Sous Bois/Hors Piste to be restored, it’s
still a great time to be cruising laps on the fine
surfaces of the groomed Grande Allee routes
of Tremblant.

Weather Notes:
Mild and snowy for today and tomorrow, but if you’re on
the way for upcoming days, be sure to have all your layers
packed because you’re going to need them.
Conditions Notes:
In The Groomed:
Generally the groomed conditions are very good
early season primarily machine generated base
with fine granular top layers having good edge-set
traction. Of course all the up’s/down’s common
to early season have made for some slick or icy
bits along the way, but all things considered, they
are less than one might expect, and they also tend
to be in patterns within topographical features
and/or where trails converge or intersect and the
traffic gets focused within narrow confines.
In an abundance of caution, the Ski Patrol have
hand posted hazard signage, however experience
within some of these zone has shown the risk to
be very minimal.
Here is a current sample of a marked area on
the upper access point to Versant Nord/North Side
Lowell Thomas Bas/Lower. Maybe there’s a hazard
somewhere here, but we could not find it.
12.31.24.Nord.North.Mid.Lowell.Thomas.Posted.Cautions.a.jpg
For sure there are a few slick bits within this frame,
but it is a fairly steep portion of the run and indeed
it is common to, and within some of the steeper
sections everywhere, that slick bits are always possible
due to traffic concentrations that can occur in trail
centres after a days use.
It’s all very usual and we would respectfully suggest
that the very best strategy is to bring only sharp edges
to Mountain. Traction is a direct function of mechanical
grip and if your edges are dull and rounded, you just
don’t have the “edge” you need to hold turns effectively.
As matter of fact, if you have dull and rounded edges,
you might think any trail at any ski resort is slick, no
matter what your skill level is. Furthermore, you’re
missing 80% of your fun AND SKILLS BUILDING potential.
If you have well tuned gear, and you are realistically
on terrain challenge that is comparable to your
actual skills, you will have an excellent day.
In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades And Un-Groomed:
If it snows enough...
Maybe... later today? Tomorrow?
Realistically, we think tomorrow has the best chance
of re-opens, but if the snowfall intensity is sufficient,
we can not ignore the possibility that later on we could
see some reopen zones today.
We also think the Ski Patrol will be researching these
groups by the hour, so hang in there bushwhackers,
it looks like there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Archival Copy Of Official Daily Message:
Bonjour Tremblant! Due to the recent rainfall, we had to
close several ski and alpine hiking trails. However, don’t
lose your enthusiasm, as winter is back on the mountain!
We’ve already received 4 cm of snow in the last 48 hours,
and Mother Nature is forecasting even more snow today.
Happy New Year!
