T360 Apres Mid-Night, Apres Ski Edit @ 12:52 A.M.

Arrival at the Resort Gondola Base visibly confirmed
the quality of the performance before you even put your
Skis on. As you can see for yourself, very fine Carving
with more than enough Top Layer depths to shred up
airborne snow trails on every turn.

Riding up the Gondola we were not surprised to see Day-Time
Grooming on Taschereau and Kandahar. It would not surprise us
to see these two trails back on the “Open” list “Soon”.

Below:
If you look closely between the Blue Snowgun Base and the camera lens,
you’ll see what appears to be a slightly Fuzzy look along the surface.
That’s the wind pushing Snow up the Mountain. Winds were definitely
“Brisk” Nor-Wester’s.

We write about Integrated Frozen Rain in the Original Post Below,

"a layer of Frozen Rain which is not a negative in most cases
because ground-up within the Grooming process, it is just another
crystalline component of the Machine Generated Top Layers.”

That turned out exactly as we expected, it looks course
in size, however it skis like all-snow. Additionally, where
subjected to traffic concentrations, the particle size gets
even smaller. With another Grooming cycle tonight,
tomorrows surfaces should generally see more refinement.

Please Note Above: With some expectations of Icy substrates,
we ran the Old Atomic F.I.S. Slalom Race Skis that Eat Ice For Breakfast, but...
we really never needed them for that because the Top Layers
were quite adequate over all the Groomed Terrain we covered.

Even though the wind was a factor, there was shelter from
Lee-Side Mountain contours, so it was not all that difficult
to deal with. There was also perceptible thermal energy in
the Sun, so while waiting for friends at the Expo Quad Base,
the sudden realization... Wow, you could actually feel “Heat”
in the directly beaming rays.

54(*) Open Trails on the Returned To Winter Slopes at #Tremblant .

A Great Place To Start From.

The Foundation Of Today Is Going To Be...

A) The Smooth Surfaces Of Yesterday.
B) The Preservation Of Pre-existing Trails.
C) The Grooming Integration of New Snow.
(**)

We are so glad for “A” above. No one can do anything about
rapid temperature drops, but Everything is so much
easier when you start from “Smooth”.

Yesterdays reduced Open Terrain was a completely justifiable
strategy to optimize a significant post-weather recovery.
The surprising part was the remarkable turning performance
within the available Open Trail area, so despite the imitations
there was still great fun and exercise value in the superb
surface quality.

It’s Important To Note:

Despite the Forecasted Light Rain as indicated by the Icons in yesterdays
Weather Graphic...

Not A Single Drop Fell Anywhere.

It was an amazingly pleasant day with a very high performance bonus.

(**)The New Snow was covered by a layer of Frozen Rain
which is not a negative in most cases because ground-up
within the Grooming process, it is just another crystalline
component of the Machine Generated Top Layers. That was
exactly the case yesterday, and we expect it to be similar today.

Crews were out promptly after Last Run and we’re looking
forward to todays experience having similar performance
on over double the number of Open Trails today.

We think it’s safe to say today may be “Technical”
Skiing and Boarding, in that the re-solidified top layers
are going to respond to gradual control inputs in order
to stay within available lateral grip.

It can take a couple of days of Grooming cycles to get
some depth back in terms of soft, loose, top layers when
temps drop so quickly, so we are urging Tremblant Guests
to be patient while this normal process takes place.

Your Enjoyment, Safety, Control, and Speed are all going to
be enhanced by bringing the Best Possible Ski/Board Edges
you can. If you can’t or don’t have time to do it yourself,
bring them to the Ski Shop in the Chalet des Voyageurs,
immediately adjacent to the Cabriolet Base @ P1.

The “Overnight” Discount Rate on the above Menu is a
Crazy Good Deal.

The "Wintersteiger DiscoveryII” CNC, Automated Tuning Machine,
Exclusively at Tremblant’s Ski Shop, is arguably the finest, Non-invasive,
Most Accurate, Ski/Board Tuning Device In North America. As far as we
know, it is the only one in Canada.

It can produce Edge Bevels to within 1/10th of a degree, and
it can also produce Textured Base Patterns that can be selected
to enhance either the Speed or Turning capabilities of your Skis
or Board.

It seems completely ridiculous to us that anyone would Invest
in a Ski Holiday, then bring gear that was last Tuned “I Can’t
Remember When”. No Other Single Thing You Can Do Will
Generate Such An Instant and HUGE Return in Performance.

We’re on the Positive Side of another Natural Winter
Weather Cycle with Rapid Recovery and Re-Opening
Open Trails.

The Advantage in this case is the very high quality and stability
of the pre-existing base that has shown tremendous durability
thanks to all that Early Season heavy frost.
